Actually it is a run-of-the-mill 'used car' dealer and I have decided to not go that route because something just 'doesn't feel right'.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

...dealer looking at giving us a 2005 C240 with 56K miles (very nice wife car) + a 99' 996C4 tip with 54K miles and a brand new engine (car is perfect) for...drum roll......40K. We are waffling a little. I still want to have local indy look at the C4. There's a 2002 996 with 33K miles for 25K that I know of also. I like the idea of newer car + lower miles, but the 99' has a brand new engine. Decisions, decisions...thoughts??? hand wringing....

Sounds good however, I think I'd go for less miles on a 240.

Concur on the 240!!!

POST 4Original post

A new engine is a great thing! Don't know much about the C240 - I assume you feel it's worth more than $20-$25k?

POST 5Original post

I'd say both cars are worth about 40K anyway so it's sounds about right. The C is worth a tick less than 20 and the P-car is worth a tad more than 20. So, not a smokin deal but a "fair" deal. Now if the deal got down in the mid-30's we are talking great deal for you. Of course, this is if both pass a full PPI. By the way, you didn't say what dealer it is....Porsche or MB?
