Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any thoughts on retrofitting the new carbon fibr airbox on the 997 X51 engine to a 996 X51 engine????

POST 2Original post

mmmm carbon fibre and mandrel bent pipes, beautiful anyways, no idea, but thanks for the beautiful pics!

POST 3Original post

It looks like it might be able to bolt right on, beautiful car btw. Your's was the best sounding 996 at Pocono last week.

POST 5Original post

For a minute there, I thought you were going to say in your bedroom, Riad .

POST 7Original post

Palting - you also have to remember if Rob (Riad) put it in his bedroom, it would probably clash with his purse!

POST 8Original post

Sorry to resurrect, but I was curious if you were able to retrofit the airbox?

POST 9Original post

The 997 guys have put these in their non S cars. The 997 airbox'es 3.6 and 3.8 have been proven to be straight up bolt ins to the 996 cars. Even the EVOMS intake is the same from the 997 to the 996.. one little 'L" bracket is different... .10c at HomeDepot. Obviously you will have to cut a hole in the fiberglass deck for the right side intake. But that is required to use this x51 intake on the 997S as well.

POST 10Original post

Ok...very nice. Now the magic question. How much? C.

POST 11Original post

Has anyone posted any gains from this, or is it purely cosmetic?

POST 12Original post

Link to price... http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/me...=CarreraSSport As for gains... I would look on the 997 board for those posts. Not sure if anyone dyno'd this. However... if I had the means to design an optimum cold air intake for our cars.. I highly doubt that it would look much different than this.. maybe not in CF as that is just for looks. Let's see two air intakes, optimally if fed by an air scoop on the rear deck like the GT3RS, filter with larger surface area, lots of water drainage underneath.. Should work out just dandy. Group buy???

POST 13Original post

Beautiful! A reasonable group buy would be a serious consideration!

POST 14Original post

I would also be interested to see if this fits a 996 X-51 . Christian 03 C4S, X-51, X-73, Aero, PSE

Porsche Sport suspension for C4S, Turbo

POST 17Original post

I thought M030 was stock on C4S and TURBO ... and X73 was the upgrade no?

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 5088743

X74 is the Porsche coilover (non-adjustable) for the Mk II C2 X73 is the Porsche Coilover (non-adjustable) for the Mk II C4S and Turbo They go well beyond the M030 and are the top end set-up Porsche offers for these cars. A word to the wise though, they are stiff. PSS9's are much more comfortable.

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It (997 X51 airbox) was tested and the difference was negligible.
