Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

33 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just picked up Misha's GTM wing so wanted to share some pics of it out of the box for future reference for other members who may search on this. I'm not completely sure whether this wing will look better than the GT2M wing (essentially the same OEM GT2 blade design), but why not give it a shot? My 50Cent4S is somewhat of a guinea pig here since I have yet to see a widebody 996 Carrera4S GTMed out, but Misha designed it in a clever way where swapping out the blades is ez operation. I'm off to Miami for the week, but setup an appointment with the good paint shop so hope to get some pics of it installed in a couple of weeks. Best, Ben

POST 2Original post

Well...time will tell. Hard to see much of a change going by the pics. Will have to get back to you once you post the completed pics. Should not leave clothes and sharp objects laying around.

Yeah, and don't run with those scissors. You could trip over the wing and injure yourself.

POST 6Original post

Ben, I just don't see that much of a difference between the two wings. To me it would be like replacing one of the wheels shown below with the other one. If someone didn't see them side by side, they would probably not know they were changed.

POST 7Original post

Quotes source post: 5036884

Those wheels, to me, are quite different. The wing looks close, but the new one looks more "edgy" the forward point is defiantly more pointed, and doesn't look like it has as much of a "aerofoil" shape. But its harder yet to tell since it isn't even mounted or painted.

POST 8Original post

Looking good; please keep us posted! That's a very effective mod! I'm almost sure that the downforce with the new wing will change >3.75% above 165mph so on a very fast track you should be able to get a 0.1sec better time per lap.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

it's def different esp for the discerning rennlist eye yea thx for the scissor warning pops

POST 10Original post

Ben Can you leave the bottom attached to the car and still have access to put on the 4 nuts for the top halve....I could not without cutting more holes through the lid. Jerry

POST 11Original post

Looking forward to seeing the new wing Ben. Thanks for the photo's.

No problem, sonny. Just looking out for your well being!

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just picked up the pork4S. The GTM wing is smaller and sharper edged than the GT2M wing which is a replica of the OEM GT2 blade set on a GT3 platform. My shop said the piece was easy to paint over and install. Good work, Misha. I like the GTM better, but for many, it'll be splittin' hairs. Here you guys go for reference. GT2M wing by Misha

My shop said they had to remove the bottom platform to attach the GTM blade.

POST 16Original post

Ben, Great taste! Turned out awesome! PS How many inches did you drop the car? THX!

POST 18Original post

Your 996 looks great Ben!! The wing is a big success. Way to go BC

POST 20Original post

Ben, the wing looks good! Have you ever considered getting a red "S" from Eric? Here's how it woould look. I think it looks good against the silver.

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thx rennlist buddies - i think i'm thru with messing with the wing now. i can see why someone would like both designs - it's a very subtle diff. zooks, the platform piece is gt3 style. hit up misha. he's pretty easy to reach and he's not just in the business to make $, but he loves cars period.

i tend to mess around with big items and leave the little stuff alone like badges and knowing me i'd prob end up coloring it pink. WHAHAH i appreciate your suggestion though - you gotta give me some gota911love for having clear sides though, yes? if any of you fellas have questions about the wing, you can always reach me 1:1 via PM. am more than glad to provide input.

POST 24Original post

I must say the red S is looking good to me as well BC, that Tim guy can nickel and dime a guy to death. Feeling your Wa license plate, nice touch -Ludwig

Definitely an improvement....roof spoiler would add another nice touch...

agreed. any suggestions?

POST 30Original post

I like the GTM deck better than the GT2... the GT2 is too "in your face" for such a porky4S.

POST 31Original post

Ben, your car looks great both way,s, but I like the GTM on the car better, follows the light lines better IMHO. As for my car, I am not sure, some times I't looks sweet to me and then other times I miss the stock look???? Jerry

POST 32Original post
