Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

According to a coulpe Forum searches, there are two types of 996 TT wheels and both came in Hollow & Solid Spoke, yet a seller of a set I'm interested in, claims that "twin turbo wheels are ONLY hollow spoke and ONLY 18"
Leading evidence: 'Use 996tts' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set i'm interested in, claims' (1 discussions). Suggestion
I have the original solid spoke "turbo-look", and bought a hollow set taken off a 2003 TT.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thanks.
Not true. I just read an article last night in Total 911 on the 996 Turbo which stated the Turbo had the 18" hollow Turbo Twists. The Carrera, on the other hand had solid spokes. Just repeating what was in the article.
Actually, not all 996TTs came with hollow spoke wheels. Most of the early 01's (and 00' Euro) cars with the removeable front bumperettes had solid spoke wheels. You could actually tell from the front of the wheels. The solid spoke versions had black rubber valve stems, while the hollow spoke wheels came with metal valve stems. This is referenced in many magazine articles as something to look for when buying used 996TTs.
All Carrera models (2 or 4) with optional Turbo look wheels had solid spoke wheels.
Just a slight correction to the above. Everything is true except about the C4S wheels. All 996 C4S wheels are solid. I have the original solid spoke "turbo-look", and bought a hollow set taken off a 2003 TT. Looks exactly the same except for the valve stems and the rear of the spokes.
Palting is correct about 996 C4S having solid wheels. My 2002 C4S did.
The part numbers were:
rear - 996.362.142.01
front - 996.362.136.01
I have a set of hollow wheels (with Bridgestone Potenza S-02A N3 tires) part numbers cast in wheels as below:
BBS logo
rear - (M418) 996.362.142.32
(serie) 996.362.142.11
front - (M418) 996.362.136.32
(serie) 996.362.136.04
These wheels are a darker metallic silver/grey with painted crest centers.
I would sell this set for $2200 FOB Charotte (or VIR or CMP or Roebling) if anyone has an interest. Set was a take off from 2003 996TT. I put under 500 miles on these, and kept them when trading the C4S for the GT3.
PM (not sure how that works) or email me if interested in making an offer.
