Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am flying in to Sarasota tomorrow to buy a car from an individual, and would greatly appreciate the ability scan the car's systems if anybody can help me out. You can send me a PM with contact info or respond here. Help would be much appreciated. I have a laptop and the software, just need a dongle, or you can bring your entire set up. I just want to check current/pending codes and rev history. THANKS!

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Averted, I was able to borrow one from a friend in town before I hopped on the plane. Thanks everyone.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, it's proving to be quite the adventure. I'll update... <-- At the airport waiting for my connecting flight. PS: If anybody is on the way between Sarasota and Raleigh NC, feel free to send me a PM for grabbing lunch or something!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, again. I did buy it. Couple of little things to fix, but I'm actually rather pleasantly surprised at how good this car is. A month without a 996 was too long!

POST 6Original post

Sure look nice, mileage? How many does this make for you? Are you buying and flipping them as you go?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's at 88k miles currently (I bought it with 86k!). This is my third 996, and first MKII. I buy a lot of cars that I like, and I enjoy fixing the little things -and every car has issues-. It's a bad habit. I also have an 86 VW GTI right now. :/
