I know they are just normal BBS- RS-GT rims and I had to use spacers to push them out a bit.

60 is the harness w/o BL, with misha's wing you use your wing light or seal the hole.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

just ordered one, but forgot to ask if it comes with a harness..anybody kno the answer 2 this?

POST 2Original post

No, it doesn't but you don't really need it. You can clip the motor swtiches together so it does not trigger an error. That's what I did.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

is there any noticable weight savings to be had by taking out all the movable wing related stuff? motors, etc etc?

POST 4Original post

nope, no weight saving as Misha's wing is not that light.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks kirby. btw..how's the fitment on urs? i've heard very good things about this guy.

POST 7Original post

Omar, You can buy the harness from Porsche its called the GT3 Wing bypass harness, MY dealer told me $60.00..........I told them I was going with the Kirby Method! They asked me " The what method", My reply was 6 cent tie straps!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for the info . as it so happens paul, i decided 2 order the wing from vivid racing, as per one of ur previous posts. i liked their service so much i set up a business account with them and can now distribute their product in canada lol. my friend practically creamed his pants when he saw that they stock CF driveshafts for eclipes . haha, i can't wait. oh: p.s., what side skirts do u think would look best with the GT2 style front bumper and GT2 wing?

POST 9Original post

The Kirby Method, hahah that's funny...and cool. I think I need to go and take a close up picture of the tie strap.

POST 10Original post

There are three different harnesses that porsche makes, priced 60,100 and 300 dollars. The differences are the inclusion of a brake light. Having done this mod I would highly recommend the harness to avoid spoiler fail lights. FWIW, if you track your car with this wing, and carry any speed, you MUST use a front splitter as this wing WILL become squirrely at speed. I added a TT lip to mine that remedied the problem. In the end I took it off and sold it, just a little too in your face for me. If I ever do another wing, it will be the oem aerokit. Fitment was good, quality was good, Misha's a great guy, not sure about the AD RD that went into it though as far as then track goes, just be sure it's what you want 24/7/365.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so for 60$, do i get a brake light? also, kirby, what size are your rims and rubber? ur fitment is spectacular. my stock rims look like theyre all tucked away in the body, not attractive at all.

POST 12Original post

60 is the harness w/o BL, with misha's wing you use your wing light or seal the hole. If you really want the pn's I'll dig them up. (100 is w/BL, 300 is w/ BL for a C4S aero wing, 2" longer, 200 more!)

POST 13Original post

Crap, I don't remember off hand. I'll take a look at them tonight. I know they are just normal BBS- RS-GT rims and I had to use spacers to push them out a bit. Thanks for the kind words.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

C4S, could you please dig up those part#rs for the 60$ and 100$ one. i would like to keep my brake light (maybe get a smoked/clear one actually....do u recall which company on the forum was selling that part?). thanks man. regards, omar.

POST 15Original post

Omar, the pn w/o brakelight is 996 612 070 51, about 60$. the pn with a brakelight is 996 612 070 04, 100$ and fits perfectly with the gt2 style misha wing without modification.

POST 17Original post

gert at carnewal sells the smoked brake light. http://www.carnewal-europe.com/main.htm

POST 18Original post

do you have a DIY on the installation of the Misha GT2 wing and the wiring of it ? pictures will also be very helpful

POST 19Original post

in my DIY section. The pictures shows you how to remove the original spoiler. To install the wing just do the reverse. It's fairly simple, just knowing where the nuts/bolts are is the big part.

POST 20Original post

call me stupid but I can't find you DIY spoiler removal, can you direct to it ?

POST 21Original post

Opps sorry, my bad. It was in another Album... http://www.funcarsonline.com/gallery/album26 here you go.

POST 22Original post

Omar Are you sure the wing has a location for the brake light....Mine doesnt.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

it hasn't arrived yet so i'm not sure lol.. if urs doesn't mine prolly doesn't either.

POST 24Original post

Misha makes both, but only by request I believe. The early Misha Wings had a space for the brake light, but the few I've seen lately do not have it.

POST 25Original post

do you have a DIY on the Wing bypass harness for the GT2 wing

POST 26Original post

check the renntech website, search spoiler harness, 3 min diy w/ pics. unplug then plug in.

POST 27Original post

Crap, I forgot to take a picture of my Tie Strap Technique...I'll take some tomorrow when I have daylight and post. 30sec Fix

POST 29Original post

OK, here are some pictures of the Motor's microswitches tie strapped. It seems to do the trick, no Spoiler Warning light for me or anyone else I've done this for. I hope this helps you out.

POST 30Original post

OK, I'm not sure if it matters which one you tie strap. At one point both were tie strapped and I guess one came loose, but still no warning light.

POST 31Original post

This topic is very important to me. If you consider yourself an expert please lend your help. My situation: I bought a wing with no brake light. I do not want any warning lights going off. I understand the concept of two microswitches telling my car to stop and start extension/retraction. I am guessing that at 75 mph the waits a few seconds and then "asks" the microswitch if the spoiler has been extended and opposite will occur when speed is reduced. If you zip tie both switches I am guessing that the computer gets the answer it prefers since it only asks one question at a time, at much different speeds. Members have asked about harnesses but if you are not changing the number of brake lights=in my case I am eliminating one, do you need to buy anything else but a few zip ties?? I did a search and could not get specific info on a 2004 C4S and when I called the dealer they were confused as well. Please except my apologies to those people who are sick of the following post topics: Short shift kits Wings/harnesses radar detection 19 inch wheels and my personal favorite=IPOD interfaces. I cannot wait for that mod !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!! Steve

POST 32Original post

Yes, you need the -51 harness, ~40$ from porsche , it will allow use of your wing without a brake light, and no warning lights. Good luck. Don't do the ties method, that's half assed. sorry kirby.

POST 33Original post

Perfect on Kirby's car, I like it.. I wont put one until I got the whole aero kit,LOL just me

POST 34Original post

Thanks for your answers!!!!!!!!especially from Mike C4S and C4S Surgeon! I ordered part number 996-612-070-51 from local stealer for 65 bucks. Now I cannot wait for the wing to complete the repainting process! Steve
