Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

'02 Targa - Seal Gray over Black, 30K miles, 17s, Full Supple leather f/r, full pwr seats L/R, Carbon Brake and Shifter, PSM, Xenons, Rear wiper, 6-disc, three spoke steering wheel.
$44,500 + $200 doc fee. Sorry, don't want to post pics in case others are casing the car. Independent dealer with good record has come down from asking price.
Car has pretty much all I want except the 17s, but you've already responded to that question and I know I'll upgrade.
Thanks!

IMO....condition, color combo and options are more important than absolute rock bottom price. Price shopping for a Porsche many times results in an unhappy purchase experience because of the either the condition of the car to missing options that you actually really wanted. Obviously you don't want to over pay to much but getting a "fair" price on the car you really want is better than getting a "good deal" on a car you don't, in my opinion (I know others here are really price conscious and will not agree with this point of view). In general this a buyers market right now, however, finding the right car can be a challenge.
I agree with you. I want a seal gray over black targa with decent options and miles. This is it. But you know how it goes! We often seek some validation!!
Here are the basics that you will want to know:
1. repair history of car and carfax, if available
2. PPI
3. can you get a CPO warranty
4. what are similar cars in TN selling for and what makes the difference
5. what prices are listed in sites like kelly's blue book (kbb.com)
As for the options, most of the 996's were upgraded to 18s and I think they have the 3 spoke wheel, too. The Carbon brake & shifter is nice but how does it go with the rest of the interior that isn't carbon (and is this Porsche or aftermarket carbon). Having the xenons on my car, I think that it should be standard on cars because it truly lights up the road.
Good luck with the purchase. BTW, what's with the $200 doc fee? Is it a lease????

Sounds like a good deal. I got 17s with my 996 and was able to buy the 18" hollow spoke OEM wheels with ok tires for 1100 (includes center colored caps)
If you don't take it, please let us know. I wish I had bought a Targa and the price is right assuming the car is in good shape, PPI checks out, and some records are available
