The automobile industry in the US uses a figure of 15k miles per year.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So my car has quite high mileage for an 04 C4 - Just under 25K (40000 km)> personally speaking in the second hand market how many miles is too many for a second hand car that would make you think twice about buying. Just wondering as I might sell next year-06 that is as it is 31/12
Prior to the 996, Porsche owners were not known to drive their cars much. The average milage was quoted in Excellence magazine at about 9k per year. The magazine still uses this figure to help determine resale value. I think we have to rethink this as many 996 owners routinely drive there machines. The automobile industry in the US uses a figure of 15k miles per year. You will have to do some research as to what your car market uses for average milage. In my opinion, you are fine with your milage.
Drive it, My 04 has more miles then yours It puts a smile on my face every time i drive, so needless to say I am a pretty happy guy.Don't worry about resale , too many people think too much about that, then one day they wake up and realize they did'nt enjoy the car to its full potential
I, too, am curious. I like to drive my car, and I'm at 36K miles for my 4 year old C4S. Given Eric's figures, I would be right on the money for 9K miles/year. I'm certain that a simillar car with less than 20K miles will probably fetch a higher price, but I would consider the price difference the cost of enjoying the car.
Here's the thing for me: when I am looking to buy a used car, which admittedly is not too often, I use the rule of thumb of absolutely no more than 10 miles per year, and frankly, for sports car, I prefer less than 5k per year. BUT, and this is a big but, this is just for buying the car. When I have already bought the car, new or used, I don't even THINK about mileage. I just drive the car however, how often and whenever I feel like it. Frankly, I always try and maintain the philosophy that I will keep the car forever (ah, like a true love) so it really doesn't matter how many miles are on it.
I just passed 34,000 miles on my 2004 C4S, I might as well trade it in for Ford Focus now.
I don't plan on selling my car, unless it becomes a true burden.
I'll keep it until it's worth more parted out, then I'll keep in a few more years.
