Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Jerry Seinfeld focuses on decade-old Porsches. He spent $1.4 million and two years having a 20-car garage-gallery built in Manhattan for his mechanical masterpieces.
The collection's centerpiece is a $700,000 Porsche 959, one of only 200 ever built. To Jerry's frustration, he isn't allowed to drive it. US government emissions and crash-test standards have never been tested on the car because Porsche refuses to hand over four vehicles for destruction tests. Jerry, therefore, has had to bring in his rare Porsche under an "exhibition only" clause -- the car must never set rubber on an American road.
Included in Jerry's collection is a 1959 straight-16 GT speedster; a Porsche 911S; a 1955 Spyder 550 -- the same model and pearl-grey color actor James Dean was driving when he crashed and died in September 1955 near Cholame, Calif. At a recent count, Jerry has 47 Porsches parked in his garage.
Jerry loves Porsches so much he gave his wife, Jessica Sklar, a 1958 Porsche 1600 Speedster as a wedding present in 1999. The car cost him a reported $40,000, chump change for the yada-yada king who topped Forbes magazine's list of top-earning celebs of 1998, when he raked in $267 million.
3 words to sum it up: Must Be Nice!
You guys do know he is a member on this very little site. In fact he is in the 993 forum more then anywhere else, but he doesnt go by the name Jerry in here, Hum I wounder why.
and so are the porsche execs of course.. i find it hard to believe they spend millions on r&d without visiting forums as well.. of course they don't do anything but lurk, but i'm sure they are reading everything we say...
I met Jerry at the Porsche Rennsport Reunion at Daytona in 04, and believe me anyone who was there will agree that he is just a regular Porsche nut. I was in the pits when he came in just before the judging in Steve McQueens #20 917: his smile was just totaly ear to ear. I asked him about how he enjoyed his ride on the track, and all he could comment about was being out there with all of the other 917's and how much history was out there with him. When I mentioned that #20 was also a special 917 he just said ,"AH JUST A COMMUTER". Jerry was willing to talk Porsche with anyone.

in Santa Cruz Ca. Bruce Canepa was the "driving" force in getting legislation passed that allows cars like the 959 to be driven legally (with many strings attached) on the roads here in the US. For $600-700K you too can have a NOS 959!
Our local PCA region had a tech session there a few months ago and here are some pictures of the 959 remanufacturing shop, and some of Bruce's other cars. This place is great, there are about 15 959s there in various states of assembly and disaasembly. I don't know anywhere else that has such a side-by-side selection of 959s, Not even Stuttgart.

Chris: Jerry is a very funny guy, but explain to me how he gets 47 cars in a 20 car garage?
"Twenty in the front, twenty in the back, six in the closet and one on the mouse's lap". I don't think so.!!
He spent $1.4 million and two years having a 20-car garage-gallery built in Manhattan for his mechanical masterpieces. I am sure the gallery is for his most precious. He has other garages I'm sure. Here is the link where I copied the information I posted. :

I once went to a local metrony pca cocktail party, he showed up and just blended in with 'the guys' talkin' porsches. Talked to him for a few seconds, very nice guy.
Anyways, he has a nice collection, had a great show (been keeping me entertained while I've been extremely sick the past few weeks - sure as hell beats oprah or Jerry Springer) and frankly, I want his collection.
The first part of my comment was just to set up the second part and was totally in jest... I guess I might be a little (OK, extremely) envious of his collection of P-cars!
lol, yeah, it's hard for me to live knowing Jerry has 47 Porsches and I only have two. This reminds me of this famous scene from Seinfeld:
"George: I'm sorry. I can't live knowing Ted Danson makes that much more than me. Who is he?
Jerry: He's somebody.
George: What about me?
Jerry: You're nobody.
George: Why him? Why not me?
Jerry: He's good, you're not.
George: I'm better than him.
Jerry: You're worse, much much worse."

Hey Jerry is a smart guy, If I had his money I would have about that many Porsches as well.
Only thing different would be that I would build myself my own private track and be driving that 959 on it.
I too met him at the Rennsport Reunion II. He is a very nice guy and like others have mentioned, he just loves talking about Porsches with anyone wants to.
Lou
If you watch Seinfeld carefully, in the early episodes you will see a Porsche poster on the wall in the apartment. Later, you can spot him reading issues of Excellence - pretty funny.
My co worker has that poster in his office that's what drew my eyes to it when I saw it on Seinfeld. I just found out what Excellence was several months ago sooo..
People tell me all the time that I look like Seinfeld. Once I had two girls chase me down when I was driving in town and when they got up beside me, one girl had her camera ready to take a pic. She then said "Oh, I thought you were Jerry Seinfeld!"
^ hey..listen you pot smoking hippie she-man...we may not have hundres of miles of mountain roads and hot stoner punk chicks and skyline GT-R's everywhere but.......hey why am i living in ontario again?

fact is, 959s can be seen on american roads with regularity (newport beach, anyways) and i see one at CC every other saturday or so...if you live in OC, andial has at least one in their shop on any given day. 959s are pretty dated by todays standards, but cool none the less. $700K? not quite.
i've chatted w seinfeld a couple times at this gathering:
http://www.lalitandtoyshow.com/index.htm
if you live in so. cal and have never been it pretty cool.
too bad the leafs suck
also let's not forget the weather
we get snow on the ground maybe a few days of the year - a porsche can stay on the road year round
i don't see vancouver making any legitimate runs at the cup in recent memory. everyone keeps bitching about leafs this and leafs that..but lets face it..the only two teams in the league in reent memory who have had a chance 2 take the cup were ottawa and toronto.
wrong
oilers
flames
as well, vancouver made a run for the cup in 1995
and they have been shaping up the past few years while the leafs have been falling off.
BTW, my dad comes from toronto so I'm very familiar with the city
he'll never go back hahaha
Wasn't there a riot in Vancouver when the Canucks lost? And isn't Bertuzzi a Canuck?
Don't get me wrong, Vancouver is beautiful, but it's not Toronto. More like Toronto 30 years ago.
bahahaha
yeah, when toronto was free of multiple shootings each night, free of grbage strikes, free of horrid traffic problems and superhighways dissecting the city, and free of snow - no wait you had snow.
Buddy - no place in the world I'd rather be - you guys go to the cottage in the weekend - you sit in a traffic jam and stress out in traffic trying to get away from the stress of the city - and you go to cottage country each weekend - I quite literally walk out my back door.
if you look at some early episodes you will see the G&W Logo Crest magnet on Jerry's refrigerator
Same one as found here

Weldon use to sell Jerry a bunch of cars (including 2 GT speedsters and a few other goodies)
lol...fair enuff. but i'll never leave.
i have been 2 van city and have family there however and it is a fantastic place and the people are really nice. There's that huge mountain you can climb as well (grouse moutain or something i think?) and lots of other great stuff
...damn i love canada.
Vancouver is beautiful, but there are many places I'd rather be. M A N Y....
I hope to spend a bunch of time out there in a few years when you host the winter olympics though. That should be a blast. I was at the games in Utah a few years ago, and I had a great time. I wish I could be in Italy for the upcoming games, but there's no way to squeeze it in.
After you have the Olympics in Vancouver I bet there will be a rush of folks trying to move there. Most people have no idea how great Canada is.
hahaha grouse mountain is not huge - you mean the grouse grind right?
some mornings I would go and run it and take the tram down, then go to school, which was maybe 10 minutes down the hill. I live at the base of grouse, it literally begins like 100ft away from my house, you begin to really climb up in terms of altitude - In fact from this room right now I can see the mountain and the little red dot that's the tram.
Paul fair enough - other places are fun for me to visit, I've been all over, been to every majour city, and frankly I like it here, just because I'm 15 minutes from downtown, a 20 minute walk from the ocean, and a 15 minute drive to the tram on grouse. I'm also a mountain biker, and this is pretty much the world destination for mountain biking (currently anyways)
Who gives a **** what you think about Toronto...Stay in BC.What kind of a comment is that to say to someone about their home town, we were talking about Jerry's collection of cars....not what YOU think of where other members are located. Become a paying member then go to the off topic section and post all you want about Vancouver.
returning to the topic at hand,
did you guys notice the artwork jerry had in his apartment on the show?
As i recall, there was a porsche model, a mercedes lemans poster next to the windows on the left, a skip barber racing school fridge magnet on the fridge doors and maybe a painting or two i'm forgetting about.
ohhh, testy testy.
Sorry, but having been there on numerous occasions, it's not that great. Remember it's my dad's hometown and he's there every... 5, 6 years? he stays away when he can help it.
No not in the least , you may not have meant to insult me , but you did. I can not see the relevance of where one is from, I respect ones pride for their home town, Do i think Toronto is better the where you are..YES.. but you don't see me say that in a thread that has nothing to do with that topic.Just think if an American said B.C in inferior because its in Canada. How would that sit with you? Further more what pisses me off is what you stated about our crime, open your eyes and have a good look at where your from, Drugs, organized crime, prositution, illegal immigration, fraud and your province has its fair share of gang violence. Now I am done with this , and suggest we talk about Porsches.
lol..i must admit i didn't really get into the show till last year or 2. as a result i have most of the episodes on my computer so things just stand out more. plus the skip barber magnet is the biggest one on the fridge...the black and red stripes really stand out.
I don't have to fear being shot anywhere in daylight - in surrey I'm a tad more guarded, maybe, but I'm not openly worried about being shot, unlike in toronto.
I am not worried about being shot.. in a city of 1.3 million plus, I say 52 murders in a year is pretty good, so its like the odds of you actually proven your point here..You remind of a guy in school he hated Porsches ...funny he never drove one, he just talked ****.Your father once lived here, it makes you an expect on Toronto? If you want to talk stats maybe you should self educate yourself of the murders you have in your backyard first, I think if you want to continue with this debate we take it to the OFF TOPIC forum, instead of wasting other members time of reading this.
Anyway. Jerry, if you are trolling this thread, I live in Asheville and I am going to your show on April 7th. It's a great time of year for a drive on the twisty mountain roads of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
If you have any spare time and want to take in some scenery, let me know and I would be happy to let you drive my C4 cab!
I can't wait for the show. I need a good dose of humor!
