Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, so I'm going to have the X73 installed on the C4S. That means I will have suspension parts, used, with 36K miles on them, afterwards. What do you guys do with the parts taken out when you upgrade/mod? At 36K miles, are the spring/shock struts worth keeping? Are they worth selling? Is there a definite shelf lifespan for springs/shocks struts? Thanks!

POST 3Original post

I kept all of my parts so that I have the flexibility to pull off the PSS9s before I sell/trade in my car. I don't think you will get enough for the stock suspension to make selling them now worth it. I just like having the flexibility.

POST 4Original post

I agree keep them they still have a good 40000 miles of use left on them and can be put back on later if you want to sale the car. Other options if you sale would be that you could ebay your PSS9s for even more money or if you PSS9s wear out you have a back up in case money becomes tight, worst case

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll keep them then, for the reasons you all mentioned.

POST 6Original post

Mine are in a box in the basement, if I ever sell the car, I'll put 'em back on and sell the x73, will get more money back that way. A used setup won't bring more than 50$, ain't worth the hassle. What would be a big hassle, would be trying to find a stock setup when you go to sell your car.

POST 7Original post

If you have an understanding wife and room, ALWAYS keep your old parts. You never know. Besides you will most likely only get pennies on the dollar if you can sell them.
