(red , yellow, black are the colors of the German flag) , at first I thought it was strange and was thinking of either changing the belts to black or red or go for yellow brakes but after seeing it in real I decided it looks ok.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all , After years without a Porsche I finally have one again. I am very happy with the car. I have been looking for a perfect 993 for a long time. With luck I stumbled on this incredibly nice 996 4S with only 10.000 kms and decided to forget the 993 for now. It is really like I wanted my car to be (black on black) no sunroof and rear wiper , things I dislike on a Porsche. Of all 996 I like the C4S the best so this is a bonus to me as well. Previous owner is a 70 year old gentleman and he pampered this car so much it still looks and feels like a brand new car both in , out and underneath. The way I like it ! My cars do not see any bad weather so this too was a bonus. Since it is a private sale of course no warranty but I am not the worrying kind so no problem there. If something happens I will deal with it. I have been reading a lot about RMS over here and I really have a hard time understanding how some seem to panic/worry so much. The 996 is a great design and in time it will reach classic car status as being the first water-cooled 911. A "first" or a "last" has always been sought after in the car world so it doesn't seem illogic that this could happen to the 996 as well. Anyway , I love the Porsche 911 (all of them) , it is a great design and hope that more people will realize that we all share a passion and any 911 is always and foremost a 911 and the type number is in my eyes totally irrelevant. If I would find a great 964 or 993 I would not hesitate to add it to my small collection. Here are some pictures from when I got the car. When the car comes out of hibernation I will post better ones. I just drove the car of the trailer and put it in my garage next to my other toys. Cleaning and pampering will start in spring. Hope this is a good introduction to the forum (Dell?) Dennis

POST 2Original post

Holy crap that is a really sweet C4S! I love the black on black with the red brakes- it just looks so mean. Congrats on a great purchase.

POST 3Original post

Nice collection! Welcome back. What year is the Lotus?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The Esprit is a 2002 V8 final edition (for Europe)

POST 7Original post

WOW! The car looks great and I love those rims - very simple, but really good looking...welcome!

POST 8Original post

Nice intro, and welcome. I agree with your comments. I was driving my car this weekend for the first time in about a month, and I really started to fall back in love with it again. I think that the 996 (really the +02) lines, including the headlights and interior, are fundamentally consistent from a design perspective, and fundamentally Porsche looking forward. My car is set up now for me, and with the experience I gained in it at the track, I really cannot imagine living without it. I hope you grow to love yours as much as I love mine. With respect to RMS, your attitude is exactly right. Even if you develop a minor weep, just think of it as your beauty marking its territory

POST 12Original post

Groovy - are those yellow belts peeking out there? You're going to have to get ceramic brakes to match!

POST 15Original post

Great looking C4S, welcome back to the 911 family. Is that the Porsche designed V-Rod? Nize. Rob

POST 16Original post

Nice job. Love the garage to. Heck of a setup.

POST 17Original post

Car looks great, and that is a heck of a garage. Do you live in a warehouse loft?

POST 18Original post

Extremely nice car. Warm welcome. PS: I am sure Dell is proud of you

POST 19Original post

Awesome awesome. Beautiful car, and wonderful car collection (love the HD). Dell, aren't you smirking like rooster in a henhouse that all the newbies are bit intimated of you now? I've never seen so many introductions and photos in one week (then again, I'm still a spring chicken myself)....

POST 20Original post

Since we are making rules for the 996 forum, here is my new rule. Anybody who pisses Dell off has to buy me drinks and cigars I expect to be "happy" frequently in light of this rule Speaking of which, Dell, I thought you were going to call me the next time you were in town. Looks like you owe me as well

POST 21Original post

Todd - You probably just pissed Dell off, so according to your new rule, now you have to buy drinks and cigars for yourself!

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yep , yellow belts , together with the big reds and the black paint it kinda says : I am from Germany (red , yellow, black are the colors of the German flag) , at first I thought it was strange and was thinking of either changing the belts to black or red or go for yellow brakes but after seeing it in real I decided it looks ok. So I will keep it like this. It was a factory order anyway so no mod. by previous owner. He specifically wanted the car with yellow belts.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just got the car last Friday so I waited to post "official" pictures and an intro until I really got it home. Have been already to CH with a trailer and coming back empty. Car was not as described so I did not want to take any chances with this one. Now it's safe in my garage hence the intro.

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In fact it is it's newer brother the "Street Rod" , same Porsche designed engine but a little sportier ride. I traded my V-Rod for this one last Summer. It's a great bike and I love it. Everybody , thanks for the welcome and the (very) positive replies.
