Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It also came with those spreckels that you're suppose to spread, but I like the plain gloss gray "clean" look.
Leading evidence: 'Clean " look' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean " look' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Otherwise, don't you end up at a different "rest position" of the stock shock which changes the dynamics of the shock?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hi
i have done and read everything on this topic and there are lot of different views.
i want to install h&r springs only.
my fender is about 26inches measured from the ground. will it drop 1.5 inches as advertised?
anybody with before and after pics.
thanks
I dropped my C4S with H&R's. Have posted pics in the following link. Couldn't be happier.

thanks rasta. i came across your post when i did my searches but was not sure if it was springs only...
there should be no difference between c2 and the "c4s".
your car looks awesome. mine is grey with the same wheels.
thanks
Here are my side by side before and after pix of
H&R 29513
springs I did on my C2. For more pictures, go to this link....

thanks carrera mike.... i did come across you pics before but was under he impression it was shocks and springs...?
if it was springs only on stock suspension then that is exactly the look i want..great pics.
Yes I did both shocks and springs, but I'm sure it doesn't matter, the springs are the ones that sets the height, so you'll still get the same height as what I have even with the stock shocks.
Good Luck.. post pix
Yes I did. Thanks Gota. Like I indicated above, it will be the same height for him 'cause it's the springs is what sets the height.
Thanks for the kind words Vove! When is your next fun drive up there? I might go up next time.
Thank you.
It's an $60 Epoxy Paint Kit that I got from the local hardware. I'll look at the box when I get home, but it's pretty good. Highly resistant to tire marks and oils. 1 kit is good for 1 car agrage so I bought 2 which was more than enougn for my 16X24 2 car garage. It comes with the chemical to acid clean the concrete and a video on how to do it. It also came with those spreckels that you're suppose to spread, but I like the plain gloss gray "clean" look.
Not as nice as this guy

Didn't mean to hijack the thread, but thanks.
The brand of the paint is RUST-OLEUM, EPOXY SHIELD, GARAGE FLOOR COATING. Like I said earlier It's a $60 Epoxy Paint Kit that I got from the local hardware. Aren't shorter springs supposed to be matched with different (I'd assume stiffer) shocks? Otherwise, don't you end up at a different "rest position" of the stock shock which changes the dynamics of the shock?
Sorry about the fuzzy terminology, but I seem to recall a talk at a BMW club event that inferred something like this? I think that the net effect of putting shorter springs on stock shocks is that the car gets "bouncy" (lots of oscillations) after hitting a bump?
David
Yes, they should be in order to really take advantage of them. Most people who put in shorter springs also want a sportier ride, in which case I'd recommend getting different shocks. I heard a lot of things about how it would create a bouncy ride and make the car handle weird, but it really didn't do anything but drop the car and make it corner flatter. I know of more than a few other owners that did the same thing with the same results. Before I did it, I couldn't find a single 996 owner that have ever tried just doing the springs, just a lot of people that said it would make the car bouncy and handle wrong. Since I'm a glutton for punishment, I decided to see what happens and do the shocks later. The ride was so close to stock that I couldn't tell the difference, and my wife couldn't either.
