Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just purchased a 2002 C4S and am relatively new to Porsches having only owned a 912 and 928 (5 sp) previously, which I drove eons ago largely unmodified. I would like to customize this car to enhance performance and looks. My question is regarding replacement of the speed deployed spoiler with another preferably OEM. Most addicts seem to replace theirs. There are reasonable OEM Aero kit spoilers on e bay but I was told there might be a fitment problem. Is this true? Is the stock spoiler not efficient enough or is it more of a cosmetic thing? I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks, Peter RLM 050915-8093

POST 2Original post

Welcome and congratulations on your new car and becoming a Rennlist member before your first post! Sorry I don't have much to offer in the answer to your questions. There are some very knowledgable members with C4Ss on this forum and hopefully they will chime in. I really like the style of the C4S and I am certain you will end up seeing some photos of what can be done to yours. Good luck and enjoy

POST 3Original post

Pictures!!!!! We need pictures of your new ride!!!! I really hate (taste is a very pesonal thing naturally) the OEM wings. The airokit frontspoiler and side skirts are world class though. Try to check out the micha wing - thats the one I'm eyeing. The stock spoiler is only assisting in downforce. A wing will keep you down. So if you plan to track or drive fast/hard, then a wing is "a good thing"(tm)

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the info. I think at this point I would like to install an OEM wing but not sure which one: Aero kit, GT-2, GT-3, or Turbo. Fitment was my big question and experience of owners who have them. As a newbee I did upload a photo of my car and wanted it to appear with my text like you old hands do but was not able to get it to appear. I have asked for some help from the forum manager but have not heard back yet. Thanks again for the responses.

POST 6Original post

2002 C4S? very smart choice! great car! you want (or at least IMO, you should get) the factory C4S aerokit... basically the same lid/wing as the TT but keeps the red reflector... (if I was into modding my car, that is the one I would get) Stock Rocks

Bonsaipeter - Welcome to the Porsche Phunny Pharm. Congrads on the P-car. Below are the step-by-step instructions on how to post a pic. It is so easy that even John (a.k.a. StanSoph) learned how to do it! If you are just doing a "Quick Reply" you will have to click on Go Advanced button. Then follow the steps below. Down below the text part of the screen and below the Submit Reply and the Preview Post and Spell Check buttons, there is a Miscellaneous Options section followed by an Attach Files section. In the Attach Files section, click on the Manage Attachments button. You will now get a pop-up window There are 3 buttons Browse, Upload, and Close this Window. Click on Browse and now (new pop-up window) you can search on your PC to locate the pic you want to attach. Click on the name of the file you want and then click Open button. Now click on the Upload button. After the file has been uploaded, click on the Close this Window button. You will be back to the original "message" screen. Your file should be listed just above the Manage Attachments button. If you are finished typing the text, you can submit the reply and everyone will be able to see your great looking P-car!

you know the protocol...pictures or else we will hassle you

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Tim! You mean I have to go through that procedure each time just to have a photo over my name, or is that easier? Anyone out there have a C4S Aero Kit Wing? Interested in price, availability, performance, and ease of installation.

POST 11Original post

Welcome! Sweet ride! A lot of C4S's around here and Peter's. That didn't come out right (I'm a Peter too - that's sounds bad too). Where u located?

POST 12Original post

WELCOME! The AERO KIT II (GT3) rear spoiler if OEM is plug-n-play. It comes with an electrical harness that will not trigger your spoiler light. I did on mine. No fitment problem at all as long as it's OEM(Porsche Made). The OEM rear spoiler is one unit with the deck lid. All made in composite material.

POST 13Original post

Welcome to Rennlist! Great looking car (looks like the perfect size for an avatar)... As a Rennlist member if you happen to stumble into the OT section don't panic... just carefully click back on the main forum and pretend you didn't see a thing.

POST 15Original post

Welcome to RENNLIST. Hope you enjoy your stay! And yes, you will be constantly harrassed until we see pictures of every part of your C4S

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys! I'll post a better one soon. I live in Key West where there are only a few older Porsches and no C4s or Turbos. The closest dealer is Miami, 4 hrs away providing there are no delays . The dealer there is not very responsive to questions so I suspect I will be bugging you guys for trivial items that everyone should know. Any recommendations for a good maintenance facility (all you S. Florida addicts)? I am being told that the Aero 2 kit front spoiler must be fitted with the wing for road driving. Any comments? Expensive stuff! Thanks again, Peter RLM#050915-8093

POST 17Original post

Hey Pete, on another subject, the Everglades Region PCA is going to take a run from Naples to Key West on Nov 11,12. Smal group 15 cars or so. PM me if you're interested in hooking up for something Sat the 12th. A lot of us are staying at Ocean Key. Nothing fancy, just a ride up Friday, mess around Sat, and return Sunday. Let me know

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the invite. I run a Dive Boat and shop which does not give me a lot of free time, but I would love to meet the group. My shop is at 1075 Duval St where there should be some free parking in our lot. The Name of my store is Bonsai.

POST 19Original post

Gee, now I can figure out your ID name Will stay in touch.

POST 20Original post

Nice. I'm a PADI rescue diver, i've been diving for about 15 years, although I haven't been the last few years.. just too busy, but I sure do miss it. Rob

POST 21Original post

That is true of you read the porsche instruction for it. If you're in FL try eagleday.com (no affiliation) for prices. Thats where i got mine when they put the aerokit II on sale. I would think it still is.

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was told that the front spoiler was necessary if installing the Aero 2 wing. Is this a fact?

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry. did not get Carrera Mikes reply until after I posted.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
