Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The convertible top will be replaced due to 4 gashes from some branch impailment(I was planning on replacing that within the year or so anyway), the winshield will be replaced due to one hit(again, was planning that within the year as well), and the rear passenger wheel will be refurbished from a branch scrape.
Leading evidence: 'Replace due' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'by staying away' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace due' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
Problem is by staying away from the trees you might have to park next to some dodgy SUV drivers, just like the one at 3 bays over.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

No...it was a great spot...nestled right next to an area where no one could park to your right, you left plenty of room so as to reduce the chances of door dings on your left.
However, in the future you shouldn't park under a tree do to the possibility of bird droppings, sap and/or debris falling on your car.
Or the whole tree.
Seriously, that's a bummer.
Dammit... Show us a photo of any damage. . What a F**k**.... I wonder if the owners of that car park could be held responsible for a tree growing too near parked cars. Doubt it, but worth a thought. Sorry for your trouble.
Amazingly the the only body "damage" was a small star crack in the front bumper cover(maybe the perfect opportunity to get that Mk1 aero bumper I always wanted!), the remaining body work is multiple scrathches that a skilled detailer should be able to remedy. The convertible top will be replaced due to 4 gashes from some branch impailment(I was planning on replacing that within the year or so anyway), the winshield will be replaced due to one hit(again, was planning that within the year as well), and the rear passenger wheel will be refurbished from a branch scrape. Through some negotiation with my insurance adjuster, all but $150 will be covered! All in all, perhaps not such a bad day for the 996 Cab!
Great outcome for such a strange occurrence! Once you get that all fix stay away from the trees
I generally do for some of the same reasons stated above - bird crap, sap, acorns, branches, pollen...now I need to add tress crashing down to my logic.
Yeah Ed, I've been lurking here, and reading everything since I got my 996 2 1/2 yrs ago, but not posting much. I suppose I should get a bit more active in our little online community here! I read that you posted at 4:11am and was thinking "what the hell is Ed doing up at this hour?!" Then I realized that you probably had to be out at the track for Skills Day by 6 or so to set up!
It's looking like a fabulous day weather-wise, and you need to talk me in to getting out there finally sometime this season!
