I've read that low hydraulic fluid can cause behavior like this as well - might want to check the level.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All of a sudden my top is really slow going up and drops really fast on way down. Any suggestions??? Late last year I had to replace one of the hydraulic arms that where damaged. Hoping I don't have to replace other.

POST 2Original post

In what way was it damaged? Do you mean worn out or something? If so, then the other may need replacing as both are likely to wear the same. Put the top into 'service mode' position and have a dam good look around to see if anything might be missing or catching. Has an arm come loose somewhere? Inspect under a strong light. Do you hear any scraping sounds when going up or down? When you have done, don't forget to connect the wires either side under the rear window. Good luck. A good guess would be the other arm needs replacing.

POST 3Original post

I've read that low hydraulic fluid can cause behavior like this as well - might want to check the level. Remember, if it is low - you probably have a leak - there's no where else for it to go.
