996 Supercharged Performance

hi all,, my 02 C4S has the RUF supercharged engine which i have no clue about,, stock air box with bmc filter,, stock headers,, and stock cats,, what are the available bolt-on options for more horsepower/torque given that i don't want to remap the ecu? thanks in advance,,

I think the upgrade options on the RUF engine are pretty limited, as they tweak it out about as much as possible. That said, I have an idea/suggestion. I will trade you. I have a virgin MK1 M96 engine that has never been modded out, with only 80k miles on it. Let's trade them out straight up, and you can tweak the bejesus out of it, and I'll keep the RUF supercharged stock in my MK1.

Pictures man, we need some pictures of the car and supercharger please. If you want more acceleration you should consider putting your car on a diet. Lightweight wheels, rotors, battery, exhaust, cats, headers, flywheel, remove rear seats & belts etc. And/or you could regear the car.

Without a remap the only thing I would add would be Methanol/water injection. It will give a decent octane boost and intake air cooling. Without a tune it's probably not worth a lot of power but should give a nice boost especially in a hot temps.

Interesting. Why dont you want to remap the ECU? A custom remap may give you the extra power you are looking for. Although, I imagine that your motor is making 400 HP already if the supercharger is doing it's job. Have you contacted RUF yet? If you need more boost maybe its time for a GT2....

we don't see that many supercharged car around and I doubt we will see that many more now that the turbo car are so cheap. I think your choice is limited by the fact that the turbo are so cheap. if you want more power it make no sense investing in the 4S... sell the 4S and get a turbo I know it is hard to sell the beloved but that is the wiser choice.

+1 Also, the 996TT can easily be modded to make crazy amounts of HP for relatively little money. Although the stock 996TT is VERY quick.

you can put a smaller pulley.... or even put a higher resistor on the maf, you can also try to make it run cooler, use water wetter instead of antifreeze for the intercooler ... but Im sure RUF will disapprove of these mods... but then again Porsche disapprove it as well.

I'd look into meth injection. A decent setup (like one from Snow Performance, Cooling Mist, Devil's Own, etc.) is under ~$600 or so and can effectively (and safely) give you 100+ octane performance on pump gas allowing your timing to be more aggressive, the boost to be higher and the intake temps to be lower. Any competent tuner should be able to tune for meth.
