Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Some will tell you to check for IMSB upgrade and RMS upgrade.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys,
I am finally getting back to a 911 and am looking at 2001 911. What issues should I be looking for and what, if any, recall should have been done.
Any help would be appreciated....

Go here pay to join (It is definitely worth it) Look at documents, manuals, after sales training, TSBs etc downloads ton of info

Records of work performed is important, a thorough PPI by a knowledgeable Porsche mechanic, overall vehicle condition, how does it drive, does everything work ie.power windows, radio, AC etc., any accident history, oil leaks(can be minor, or major),smoke on start-up(AOS), condition of clutch, transmission, brakes, etc. Some will tell you to check for IMSB upgrade and RMS upgrade.
more info to be provided by owner this weekend, then PPI

Here is the write up
Always a southern car never driven in the winter at all. Lots of classy factory options such as sport adaptive premium supple seats with porsche emblems embroided, factory full Euro kit with side skirts and wood grain interior trim just to name a few. Only 66k miles, 6 speed, seal gray metallic paint with gray full leather. CD player, ipod hook, blue tooth, turbo 18 in wheels, beautiful car, very much babied. Just had its 60k mile service at the local porsche dealer. 4 Brand New tires. Hate to see it go but I am buying a turbo. This car turns alot of heads because of the combination of colors, condition and options!
looks sharp from the outside. How do YOU like the interior? can you live with the wood accents?
the price you decide on purchasing it for is up to you. Are you looking to mod it, change out some items, or just enjoy it as is?
does the current owner post here on Rennlist? Is the car still located in the southern US?
if the maintenance documents are available, whether it has had any major work done. Clutch, ALL fluids changed, signs of oil leaks, AOS, IMS, RMS, etc....and you are willing to travel to personally check it out, get a PPI, and drive it back, maybe it's worth it.
Whats the asking price?
The Aero kit alone gives the car a great look. minor issues may have to be addressed, so make sure you have the resources for those. If there are signs of some Major issues,
then price accordingly or walk away.
GL.
Not sure if I can live with the interior, need to see in person. Car currently in New England, near me. Meeting owner this weekend, says he has lots of maint records.....Says 60k service performed at local P dealership-want to see invoice...
Will keep everyone up to date.

current location makes it even better for you, let us know what you think of it in person. You can pretty much tell by a close up inspection of body panels, engine compartment, undercarriage, interior, and that everything works on it fine, if it is indeed a well kept 996. usually a little wear and tear is not a deal breaker, some small defects can be repaired at low cost.
if it's a one-owner car, you should get ALL the manuals and original documents, which can be a plus.
Oh yeah, definitley TWO keys ( bonus for the 3rd key ( valet)).
I like to call the shops that did any recent maintenance and talk to the manager or mechanic that did the work. I have found many times they will give you some great advice about the car and its history.
