Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also did the anti-stall mod...the orange plunger that changes the throttle map when you depress the clutch.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I turned 80,000 miles this week on my 2004 C2 Aero!....its the daily driver and often gets rode hard and put away wet. I put 123,000 on my 1991 993 before the 996... Love it!!

POST 2Original post

1991 993? I think subconsciously you want a 993. Congrats hitting 80K.... may she reach the 123K mark.

POST 3Original post

Very nice accomplishment! Is this on original engine I imagine right?

POST 4Original post

Nice, I love hearing posts like this one. About to hit 61K on my 2000 9996. Hope to at least double that before I trade it in for another 911.

POST 6Original post

91 993 would be worth about a bagillion dollars WTG on the milestone - keep er going

POST 8Original post

I just hit 45,000 on my '99 C2 Aero over the weekend

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes! 1991 964 C4...I actually posted from my Ipod in a super hurry. I dont know what I was thinking or what happened...lol I think maybe I'm showing I have about 80,000 miles on my old brain! Yes the 2004 996 is original motor et' al. It had a clutch and an leaky RMS seal replaced at 20k, a new coolent tank at 50k, doesnt leave a drop of oil on the floor or anything else. Starting to get a whine from the alternator when the AC load is on it, but I'm not complaining! Has most of the DIY mods...gas pedal clip removed, clutch helper spring removed, sport exhaust speed sensor thingy (lol), chip, headers, coil overs, short shifter.

POST 10Original post

Ok.... need some info on: gas pedal clip removed and sports exhaust speed sensor thingy?

POST 11Original post

clutch helper spring removed - what does that accomplish - just making the pedal easier to depress?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the clutch helper spring makes the clutch easier to depress. Some like it...some don't. Many feel, me included, with the spring removed its actually easier to drive...makes for a better feel to the clutch. I stalled several times from a stop, or milking it over a speed bump; shifting through the gears was sort of jerky...after removing it...like butter! Haven't stalled it since. The Sport exhaust thingy...lol is the relay mod for the speed sensor. The sport exhaust was designed to go into "whisper mode" at low speeds...was part of new noise laws. Modifying the relay keeps it it sport sound mode...unless you manually push the "whisper mode" button. The gas pedal clip...the gas pedal is "fly-by-wire" and has a metal clip where the plastic pedal mounts to the ball joint. After awhile the pedal feels stiff and creaky...removing this clip makes the pedal smooth as butter and way more responsive. I also did the anti-stall mod...the orange plunger that changes the throttle map when you depress the clutch. Removing that switch (taping the plunger down) makes the throttle more responsive as well.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I dont know how to post links...so search the 996 forum for: Gas Pedal C Clip Mod PSE Relay Clutch Helper spring Clutch Delay those will lead you to all the mods I mentioned.
