Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Another PO slap in the face.... this is the blinker from my 1999 porsche 996. I was having issue with the rate of blink on my turn signals but only on the drivers side and when the 4-ways where on. Well tonight I got a chance to dig in to this an here is what I found. I say it time and time again. Much like american antifreeze that will actually break down the german rubber and plastic, So will the american blinker fluid. You can tell its the american product due to the fact it is clear. (german is a blood red) Well the PO along with his great cheapness and wizdom, like he did the anti freeze ran his little butt to pep boys and they gave him american BF. It appears it has broken down the seal in this side and it has leaked into the lens. I do hope I am in time to save the rest of the housings. at $689.00 each this could add up fast. So anyway.. I am off to the dealer (70 miles away) for some blinktosin.... Does anyone know how many oz it takes? at 12$ an oz I dont want to buy more than I need. Anyone have any tips on filling it.?. Draining it was a real bitch. Remove the bumper cover and it was still hard to get to..... I made the tool for the plug out of some popsickly sticks.. Worked great

POST 2Original post

I thought there are drain hose for the BF? Maybe yours are clogged.

POST 7Original post

POST 8Original post

Kyle, for real...(since I cant tell from your close up pics) is that part of your headlight assy? did you say you removed the bumper cover? or is this all kidding... anyhow...dont just be taking pictures of that EPA spill and not showing the hazmat cleanup effort

POST 9Original post

It's the small triangle piece on the headlight assembly. Once the fluid leaks, you need a replacement. I think it was $17.

POST 10Original post

that's what I thought, but he stated he removed the bumprer cover to access it "Draining it was a real bitch. Remove the bumper cover and it was still hard to get to..... I made the tool for the plug out of some popsickly sticks.. Worked great " I was really hoping he was kidding

This is correct. I was actually re-fitting my front bumber cover. I am not happy with the fit ever since I replaced the horns. When I removed my head lamps I saw one of my tri angle corners are cracked.... and taking on Bio degradable blinker fluid. I couldnt help but to think how great a blinker fluid write up it would make. Complete with pictures for proof.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In addition to the prop wash, you will need a can of vortex generator oil and a left-handed adjustable wrench

POST 15Original post

Look in the back ground of the pics! Are those new wheels waiting to go on? Fes up.

POST 17Original post

I've heard that blinker fluid contains Dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO) which is a very toxic chemical, check out the details at: http://www.dhmo.org some of the dangers from their web site: Death can be caused due to accidental inhalation of DHMO DHMO is a major component of acid rain Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns Contributes to soil erosion Leads to corrosion of many metals Causes short circuits in electrical systems It was given to vicious dogs in recent attacks Often associated with killer tornados Was found leaking from the Dai-ichi nuclear plant in Japan
