Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just finished painting the new hood & spoiler. Put most of it together (minus the spoiler) & it works fine but when I closed the engine hood now it wont release to open. Yes I hear the motor releasing the latch. Now I am alone so hopefully when someone comes home I can pull it open while someone holds the release button, but it does not pop open at all. Any help on getting it open otherwise?

POST 2Original post

The rubber bumpers on either side of the weather stripping are supposed to be under compression when the lid is closed so that it can "pop" open. Check those bumpers. You can turn them to adjust how far they stick out.

POST 3Original post

Look for the release wire between the engine cover and left tail light. If you can see a small braided wire, thats it. Pull on it while you pull up on the cover. Then adjust after it opens.
