Came across this ad and the steering wheel and seat colors seem odd. Advertised as a 2001 996 C2, but this steering wheel seems earlier, and what is this two-tone (maybe three-tone) interior? Thanks for any insight. - Eric

Very early production for the year seem to have the 4-spoke, while the 3-spoke was phased in a few months later on. Seats (and likely console) were changed.

As was stated, 4 spoke steering wheel was present on some .1s. The seats are recovered. Black carpet might be a deviated carpet option, check the codes in the sticker on the inside of the frunk lid. Hope you are getting that for cheap if you buy it, does not look like the type of person I would purchase a car from.

Make sure there aren't airbag faults in it. I'm always suspicious of a non stock steering wheel and the rest of this car makes me uneasy.

At least from BaT listings, early-run MY01 cars did have the 4-spoke. Production dates around July and August 2000 from a few samples.

I don�t think it�s a two-tone interior. Unless I�m missing something, it looks like they broke up a Sea of Graphite Grey with black floor mats and a black center console. The seats have been recovered and the interior hasn�t been vacuumed since the before the pandemic. It�s difficult to say anything about the steering wheel since the picture is so out of focus. But I�m pretty sure that the 4 spoke was still standard in early 2001.

By the look of the interior, this car will probably cost alot of time and money. I can only imagine whats been done or probably more importantly, whats not been done to the engine, suspension and exhaust over the years.
