Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just picked up my first porsche. It's a 2003 996 carrera - silver and grey - with only 18,000 miles and one owner. Aside from an RMS issue, the PPI came back clean. I got the leak taken care of as part of the deal and upgraded the IMS while they were in there. The car is in great shape and I'm havng a great time driving it. I was looking at a lot of other cars, but my wife - the voice of reason - told me "get a porsche, that's the car you really want". God love her! I picked up a lot of info from the forum that really helped with the purchase. Thanks to everyone for their insight. Cheers, Sumner

POST 16Original post

Everyone lines up to spend your money..... Good car choice. '03 was the only good year, that's why there's generally so few of them for sale. Good choice in RMS/IMS work done up front. The biggest problem of doing that is that it makes SO many posts uninteresting. Now get some miles on it so you get a baseline before you make any mods to the suspension, etc. Also, get a sense of how you use it. Some of the guys who scream for lower/tighter suspensions don't take their cars on long trips (or with their spouses/kids). Important to get a sense of who is recommending what and assess the impact on how you use your car.
