Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So the seat slider on my passenger side moves in all directions, EXCEPT backward I was watching some people using a double pole, double throw (DPDT) switch I was thinking of using one of the 996 button blanks and wiring it up as a reverse polarity switch to reverse the polarity of the seat like the spoiler button: https://www.ebay.com/itm/13466430340...3ABFBMzP2Yg91n thoughts?

This is the type of stuff that tanks your car's value.

thanks but it would totally be reversible I would just be using one of the blank knockouts on the 996 dash and it's so I can buy time till I figure out or find a set of manual seats, I really really hate the powered seats

POST 4Original post

Comfort seats, tombstones, powered, leather, heated, whatever version you have are very poor looking in my opinion, however I would say both my wife and me on separate occasions have driven 850 miles in a day and got out with no back ache, so I guess they are aptly named (comfort) I find that they feel like I am sitting on them and slide around a bit, I have fitted a 987 non matching non sport drivers seat as a test and I like it so far driving locally, its a manual seat with two way switch for recline, I have been on the hunt for some 987,997 sport seats and recently found out that 991 seats will also physically fit the bolt pattern, (confirm yourself before buying) I think I have found some black sport seats (fingers crossed) the wiring requires a small connection adjustment apparently.. good luck..
