Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

the car is so fun to drive that its looks aren't the most important to me at the moment.......but I have ADD so that can change quickly!!!
Leading evidence: 'Replace quickly' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace quickly' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been a lurker for a bit. Ive just picked up a 99 996 and love it. Being from a Porsche family and growing up with them I'm so excited to have one of my own. It is bone stock at the moment, but being that I'm one of the extremely lucky sons of the owners of Brey-Krause, I have everything they make for the 996 arriving for it from the East Coast soon. I also have a set of heated black leather with silver stitching sport seats being shipped as well.
I had the PPI done on it at Robert Larson Porsche and will have it maintained (hopefully) at John Walkers in Greenwood.
I'll add some pics of it, not the best quality as it was getting dark, and I don't want to pull it out in the rain to take more.. lol
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello, and am already greatful to have picked up a ton of good info from you all. So, thanks!
The day I picked it up..
Yesterday...
I wont share any pics of the front, of my Boxter..lol er, i mean 911..... ugh.. i need litronics asap!!!
Thanks everyone! No adoptions SP, sorry.. i wouldn't want to share the goods! :-)
Stuck, where in North Jersey r u.. I moved here from Sussex.. beautiful country..
Ed, Hi neighbor..it has 71k on it.. but appears extremely loved in its former life. As its not my daily driver I didn't see too big of an issue.. lets hope I'm correct.. *keeps fingers crossed*....
I just came off 2+ years in a 996 and ended at 115k miles with no real issues - great cars - You might be interested in service a little closer, if so, let me know I know a great shop and they are leading the way in our area in 996 work - Some of the other shops have good reps because of the aircooled days but really are a bit behind the curve on the water cooled models...
anyhow, great looking car and here's to many happy returns!
I dont really want to take away from your intro thread - but under 10 posts you cant PM so I will just say check out this place -

They are an Authorized dealer/installer for LNE and I have been there a great many times. Really staying on top of the M96 cars
Its at least worth a trip to see if they look like the kind of people you would want to do business with. the choice is ultimately yours of coarse.
Plus 1 on Chris's German for 996 service.
No offense to the op, but John Walker would not let this car anywhere near his shop as long as he had air in his lungs. In fact I would be surprised if you were able to successfully drive by twice within 5 minutes in both directions on Greenwood past his shop with all 4 tires intact
Nice ride.
Congrats on the new ride! As you've been a lurker for a while, I'm sure that you know that there's a ton of info in the forum, and lots of helpful people as well. Enjoy!
Great car. Happy for you finally getting a car that will take care of your real driving needs. I'm sure you are loving the feel of the road now. Sure handles steering pretty good doesn't it.
Ok, I see where where the shop i was intending to go to leans.. noted.. LOL!!! ..... I will use them in the future when I add to my collection! ;-)
Brey Krause is actually located in PA not Jersey.. FYI
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
A little more about me would be that I enjoy off roading on the many fine trails in the cascade mountains during the weekends..I drive an old 91 Nissan Pathfinder with over 250 thousand miles and counting for my daily driver and my off roader... I traded my 06 Mercedes C230 sport for the Porsche... it was a nice car, but not a true sports car and most importantly had no soul.. it was just too sterile. I also have a 78 Fiat spyder which I bought as a "project car".. it runs great but has no electrical system in place besides the motor harness... the previous owner cut the entire harness out of it... now it just sits in my garage.. I'll get around to it someday....
Come down to Redmond Town Center on a Saturday at 8/9 or so...Desert Fire parking lot area blocked off for a get-together of ALL KINDS of incredible cars! Go!
Yea no kidding - Tommy puts on quite a showing! Been there many times! That gold color one Roy brought this week (saw pics) with that brown interior was so cool !!
BTW - from John Walkers website
"John works on air-cooled Porsches only."
I was in Chris's on Friday and have to say they are leading the way in diagnostics on the water cooled. OMG I cant really elaborate on this but what I saw on the variocam and variocam plus diagnostics was simply mind blowing! Truely the best shop for your car (and mine!) they are doing SO much right now...this week, this month, this year.... its amazing - any locals NOT using them just dont know what you are missing...and without a doubt in my mind there is no way these things could be done at home... some things require the best tools available in the best hands with the most experience... dont know how to express that enough. I am a customer for life!
Is that something about modding what you are able to mod, releasing your obsession with what you can't afford to mod and knowing the difference before you click the [BUY] button on Ebay?
Probably not the right one...
You would have liked it. Typical Fiat...3 downdraft Webbers, 4 cam, light alloy V-6, factory headers.
I'd still have been boring, but the car was memorable. It's now owned by a commercial pilot down in Tacoma.
I am def going to check them out as I need to have a service done. Thanks!
Wow!!! that is a beauty!
Dam, sorry I missed it!
I was at the XXX rootbeer place for lunch and there were some nice rides parked there.. and a dirty but very nice blue GT3.
Exotics at RTC (Redmond Town Center) is every Saturday that it doesnt rain - check out this link and watch the mail "Northwest" thread for weekly updates, Tommy is great at keeping it well posted

But i can see no one showing up till 9ish.. who wants to get up at 8 on a weekend??
Ha... im not a morning person... and on the weekends im usually nursing a headache in the am
.... 1 dog and no kids for me... my time is my time, ... well.... till my girlfriend brings her kid over..
Thought I'd throw up a few new pics of her, just cleaned her up and took her for a spin.
I really would like to get the smoked pumpkins soon and find clear fronts...
IMO clear sides are better than smoked on your car - finding clear headlights is a bit of a challenge, but I found 2 sets here in this area over the course of about a year.... second set was in great shape - they also make clear rear blinkers
Why do you suspect that? Im def no Mr Moneybags... lol really all im gonna do is put some HR sport springs, add all of the Brey Krause options, sport seats, and figure out some sort of better exhaust... thats about it and this will all happen over time as I can afford it... If poss i would like to put a more aggressive front nose on it,, as mine has some scuffs and it looks a bit too tame.
Yes, ive noticed that clears are hard to find... especially if you don't want to spend much.. i would rather have litronics.. im patient though.. the car is so fun to drive that its looks aren't the most important to me at the moment.......but I have ADD so that can change quickly!!!
