Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I did run new leads to the dash as the speakers I was using were Focal 100KP's which are component speakers.
I ran the leads from the dash speaker outputs from the amp to the crossover located in the trunk, then seperate leads to the mids and tweeters in the dash.
Leading evidence: 'Run leads' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust output level' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

When I upgraded to a JL Audio E6450 I ran a new power/hot directly from the battery with a fuse, and a new ground to where the battery gronds to the body.

I also ran new RCA jacks from the OEM head unit to the amp using an adaptor at the head unit I got from Becker.

Suggestion
No, just had to make sure the ground was good and adjust the output level on the amp.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Sorry I would post or send the diagram from my manual but for some reason I cannot cut and paste a section with the later versions of Adobe (I used to be able to do this with older versions). In any case here are the specs.
Left Door - Green - Brown/Green
Left Dash - Yellow - Yellow/Brown
Left Rear - White - White/Brown
Right Rear - Black - Black/Brown
Right Dash - Red - Red/Brown
Right Door - Violt - Violet/Brown
These are for a 2000. What year is yours? I can check to see if it is different.
Those are the feeds from the amp to the speakers. The color/Brown are the negatives leads. Do you mean the ground for the amp? When I upgraded to a JL Audio E6450 I ran a new power/hot directly from the battery with a fuse, and a new ground to where the battery gronds to the body. You have to be careful of "ground loops" which can cause hums. I also ran new RCA jacks from the OEM head unit to the amp using an adaptor at the head unit I got from Becker.
What are you trying to do?
I understand the colors. I would think they would be the same 1999 as your 2000. I am upgrading to a JL Audio amp and speakers. I ordered an adapter that plugs into the OEM radio and provides RCA outputs. I can do the same as you did for power and ground because this is mounted next to the battery. Did you get any "hums" when you hoooked it up this way?
No, just had to make sure the ground was good and adjust the output level on the amp. You will love the results. I did run new leads to the dash as the speakers I was using were Focal 100KP's which are component speakers. I ran the leads from the dash speaker outputs from the amp to the crossover located in the trunk, then seperate leads to the mids and tweeters in the dash. The stock speakers are coaxial so ther is only one set of leads for each speaker in the dash. The doors are subs, and the outputs from the stock amp are set up fro subs and from a JL Audio 6 channel amp can be set for subs. I used the factory wiring for the doors. Also for the rears where I put Focal 100 slims which are coaxial (i.e have resistors to separate the frequencies rather than crossovers).
The biggest benenfit is from the speaker upgrades, I did this before the amp and even with the stock amp they sounded much better than the OEM speakers, which quite frankly are junk. Then I did the amp and it added alot of quality and power. Still running the OEM head unit, and the sound is great, better from the OEM CD than the radio, but both still sound great.
Good Luck!!
