Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was getting gas earlier (not in my Porsche) a nice 2000 996 was getting gas next to me driven by a guy I assumed to be around late 30's early 40's (same as me).
It was a nice clean car so I said "Hey, Very nice 996!"
he replies, It's not an 96 it's a 2000 but thank you.
I just said, my mistake, enjoy!
Well, we cant all be enthusiasts.. but geeez!
Maybe it was borrowed.
yup, had the same thing with a 993 owner... complimented what a nice 993 it was and the reply.... OH it's not a 993 it's a 911
Tilted my head and said, WoW.. its really nice
96??? did they make these ugly 996's in 96??? DUH DUH??? What where am I??? Is this mars?? how can you be snotty in a old $20K wannabe sportscar?
Just kidding
Maybe we saw the same guy/car? Other day as I was getting out of my car at a Vons, a red 993 parks next to me & I go "nice 993" & the guy corrected me saying "it's 911, not 993" ... so I was like "ya, well nice 911" & he says "ya, it's a Carrera"
... w t .... f?
Always have to remember that for every one of us, there are four or five who think "Why I bet I could catch a lot of tail with one of those 911 Carmaras".
funny thing is is that i get more attention from older gentlemen and high school aged boys who are enthusiastic about our "exotic" cars than any members of the fairer sex. maybe this is just a michigan thing since we have such a car culture, a cool car just isn't very unique.
No, back when I had a Corvette, it was an absolute dude magnet. Of course, I don't float that way (not that there's anything wrong with that) but it actually became a bit annoying.
Now, in the 996 cab when I'm tooling around with the top down, the women, they smile, they wave, the guys, they wave, thumbs up, etc. I think it's the convertible more than the 996, er, 911, er, 2002

To this day, I have this one chic who thinks I drive a camaro. She even teases sometimes "Are you driving your little camaro today".
I'll never correct her.
Too funny. Had the same experience with a guy in a 997. I wasted 15 minutes of my life at a cocktail party explaining chassis designations to him while his eyes glazed over when he finally confessed that he was recently divorced and his brother told him a "911 will attract younger women." Later, when I met his date, I learned his brother was dead on.
