For the nooks and crannies, I use a Home Depot power washer.

I use simple green and an electrie 1300psi power washer, for the wheels and wells...before I wash the rest of the car.

I use Simple Green at about a 40/60 dillution factor with H2O...works nice.

I like the look -- especially when clean but they are hard to keep that way using the Porsche brake pads.

I have somewhat the same pattern but on a 1-piece wheel, what I did is change my front pads to Mintex (less brake dust that Textar) and use regular soap and water.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What is the best way to clean Sport Classic II Wheels? I like the look -- especially when clean but they are hard to keep that way using the Porsche brake pads. I knew they would be a pain when I got them so I triple coated them with rejex but the brake dust still gets in all the nooks & crannies and sticks. It takes forever to clean them with a sponge. In case you don't remember -- here is a picture:
JJ,
You did well by coating them with wax.

Once a month I remove the wheel and give it a good cleaning.
Take a look at the attached link:

They have a 16" wire wheel brush. Some will say it is too harsh for our wheels, but is is a bristle brush. So I soak it for a few minutes to soften the bristles. It is the only type of brush that I have found to get inside the wheel completely. And by soaking it, it has not harmed the finish at all.
what Bob said. Most of the spray on, rinse off, stuff should do the job, you may have to go over it with a brush, but pretty much any brand name wheel cleaner should work.
For my Fikse FM-10 wheels, I also use a wire spoke wheel bristle brush and a wool's mitt with Simple Green. With stock Textar pads the dust isn't bad, but Hawk Blue racing pad dust is super corrosive and tenacious. For the nooks and crannies, I use a Home Depot power washer. My nozzle is set to the shaprest setting, but I can get away with this since my wheels are anodized. If you use a power washer, set the nozzle to a medium setting and don't place nozzle too close to the finsish or you may blow away the paint.
A good coat of wax on your wheels every few months works wonders. I use Simple Green at about a 40/60 dillution factor with H2O...works nice. Sometimes I just use McGuires car wash soap which works well. I think the real trick is keeping a good coat of wax on the wheels first.
JJ, do you think you have difficulties.. these are a bitch as well. I use simple green and an electrie 1300psi power washer, for the wheels and wells...before I wash the rest of the car.
Thanks all -- I ordered the brush and mit. I will give it a shot this weekend with simple green. I have a track day Thursday so they should be good and dirty
If that doesn't work then it sounds like its time for the power washer.
