Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Tested the blower with the ohm meter, all good, tested the plug for power, all good.

I did a search at renntech.org and found a good link describing how to remove the blower and to check the ballast relay attached.

Suggestion
I will check the fuses and jiggle the ignition switch to see if it will come on.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A problem came up today. The HVAC display shows as normal, I can raise the fan speed and the progress bar lights up, but absolutely no air is moving. I checked the fuses, all good. Did a search, no luck. Any ideas?
Could be that your ignition switch is bad, the exact same thing happened to me.
Make sure to twist the key as far back you can after starting the engine (without shutting the engine off) and see if that works.
I thought about that as well. I tried the ignition on & off several times, even jiggling the key around, but nothing changed.
I did a search at renntech.org and found a good link describing how to remove the blower and to check the ballast relay attached. I was tied up this weekend working on my BMW, so I'll get back to this one next week.
Thanks to all the suggestions. I'll report back once I get it fixed,
hmmmm, first thing is I would check if the fresh air blower is still good.... put 12v across the 2 wires on the blower.
It looks like the blower is attached to relay XE Relay #9. Sounds like a disconnect somewhere or a bad motor...
I don't know how to edit the title of the thread...
Anyway, I removed the blower motor and found a fair amount of insulation inside; not enough to stop the blower from turning I thought. Tested the blower with the ohm meter, all good, tested the plug for power, all good. Plugged it back in, works perfectly!
I've been seeing the insulation blowig out the vents for a while. I guess I'll have to put the vent door repair on the list now.
Thanks to all for helping me out!
My 99 996 did the same thing today. I will check the fuses and jiggle the ignition switch to see if it will come on. The a/c engages when I press the snowflake. I'm not in to messing with the wires but I'd take a gamble with the blower motor if it isn't a professional type job. Anybody have some guidance into the assembly/disassembly of the blower?
