This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone know of a good mechanic in the NYC area for the IMS retrofit?

POST 2Original post

ROCS automotive in Belleville, NJ They did mine, great job and very experienced shop.

POST 3Original post

A little far from NYC, but Powertech in Rockaway did mine, along with a couple other little things. I was satisfied with the work.

POST 4Original post

I had mine done in Freeport, Long Island by Rudtners. I was very satisfied with the work.

POST 5Original post

Just had mine done at DeMan Motorsports in Blauvelt, NY. Rick is a Porsche Indy and does excellent work. http://www.demanmotorsport.com/

POST 6Original post

+1 on Rudtner in Freeport. Bill is the chief driving instructor for Metro PCA. A salesman at the Porsche dealership once said that Bill is different. Most shops race to get clients, but Bill gets clients so he can race. He treats your car as if it his own.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone. I can't believe there is no one in NYC! These are all 50+ miles away from me

POST 10Original post

Town Porsche in Englewood NJ is familiar with the procedure and would probably give you a Porsche service loaner if you scheduled an appointment. They charge $148/hr labor though.

POST 11Original post

You could try Manhattan Motorcars for $189/hr.

Belleville is 15 minutes from Midtown.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'd just like to update everyone and let you guys know that I did the IMS retrofit with Rich at ROCS Auto in Belleville. His knowledge and professionalism was superb to say the least, and I highly recommend them for the IMS retrofit, as well as ANY Porsche related work. They did a whole bunch of other work on my car as well, and it's running excellent.
