Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello All, Looking to pull trigger on '99 C2 Cabrio with hardtop, only 28K miles. What is a fair price range. KBB says $33K, Edmunds $23K. Any advice appreciated. Listed fro $27K at dealer.
Thanks for any advice!
Depends on condition. At 28k miles should be like new. That said there are alot of things that can go wrong with an 12 yr old car. Maint records and a good PPI are a must. I paid 23.5K for my 99 cap in 2009 with 36K. But have put over 7K into the car since then.
I was thinking about selling mine this year and was going to start in the low 30's. Which I think is very high for a 99. But mine has upgraded IMS, new: clutch, RMS, AOS, H2O pump, N-rated tires, etc, etc, etc
You would need $4-5K for all Jake's 996 upgrades which I highly recommend.
But the 99's are a total blast to drive!
BTW I dont think you can go by KBB, there are not enough 99, 996's sold per year to get acturate pricing. And overpaying for a car with no problems is much better than a great deal on a car that need 5-8K in repairs. These car are very expensive to be worked on.
I just paid $24990 for a car that sounds almost identical. 31,000 miles, factory hardtop, pretty well optioned, in "like new" condition. Only problem was soft top needs replaced, but I am replacing it with a glass window version. All in all, as long as ppi turns out well, 25 seems a good price. But then again, pay whatever YOU are comfortable with. It is your car and your money. What others think is irrelevant, as long as you sleep soundly at night.
Yes that's good advice but most of us compare to others whether we should or not. It's human nature. Thus most of us do care what others paid, if we got a "good deal," etc.... By the way you got ripped off at $24,990! Just kidding.
This is why I don't tell people what I paid for my car. 1/3 of the people will say I paid too much, 1/3 will say I paid the right price and 1/3 will say I got "a deal." In the end, the seller got a price he was willing to take and I paid something I was willing to pay.
I think prices on 99s are getting stabilize but I have seen them from high teens (more miles) to low-mid $20ks.
This one has low miles so might be a good buy if all checks ok. But I agree... go with what you think its worth to you and no one else. Its good to ask around (of course) for opinion.
Good luck and hope you end up with the car soon!
