Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just got my headlamp washer assy for my 02 C2, and I can't find any write-ups on their installation. They appear to be just a tight "slip fit", but they also gave a serated surface would hinder the slip aspect. Anybody out there that has already replaced these? Thanks Larry

POST 2Original post

Do you mean the pop-up washer head with the chrome cap?

POST 3Original post

Assuming you mean the chrome caps, what I did was have someone in the car push the washer stalk foward to pop up the assembly, while someone outside of the car grabs the assembly with a pair of pliers when it is at the top of it's stroke. You can then install the chrome caps. It was many years ago, but I seem to recall that's how the Porsche tech showed me how to do it the first time. It isn't a pretty exercise, you might get wet. The design of that whole system is a bit s&*t actually.

POST 4Original post

I did the same thing. Once you've got it held open with pliers, you can simply pull the old one off and push the new one on. It takes about 10 seconds.

POST 5Original post

What if ONE does not pop up I am getting my lights refinished but I was just thinking about this as I wanted to take the crome caps off so the gut can do the area under it rather than have to go around it.
