Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My battery needs to be replaced out of the hood compartment.
It will no longer hold a charge.
I tried opening the hood with the fuze-jumper technique, but the alarm will not shut off even with the key turning the door lock as ze instructions say.
I also tried deactivating the alarm at the steering column. The alarm overrides the electric hood release so I can't change the battery ..
Any recommendations?
Thanks!
Try this, Put the jumper in the car. Make sure that you get a good ground. Maybe slide the plastic cover off the seat mount bolt or the end of the rail and use that for ground. Close the door and "unlock" it using the remote. This should disable the alarm.
You could play "Go Fish" for the emergency cable release in/near the passenger side fender up by the headlight. You may be able to see it by pulling out the side marker and looking in through there?? Some folks have pulled the right front wheel and loosened the fender liner to get to it.
ugh, really
don't
want to go fishing for the release cable.
I'll try my other key first! Thanks for your responses. Gonna give it another try shortly...
Have you tried putting a screw driver between the hood and trunk release and physically moving the locked cam? When the battery dies then the cam automatically locks in place and you can't the release handles won't move enough to release the hood or trunk.
I have a 1999 C2 and that's the way I unlocked my hood when my battery died. Tried fishing around under the passenger side front fender for the emergency release cable and I couldn't find it.
