So, I finally gotem The driver side lower bolt, I decided to drag out my compressor and used the air impact gun on it - came right out (the cordless 20v just didnt have the guts I guess).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im in the process of changing out my AC condensers (theyre full of leaks). Today I removed my front bumper cover (did a whole bunch of cleaning and lubrication along the way), the rubber air inlets/airdams. Once I got to the condensers connections the trouble started. These things are tight/frozen! I soaked them all day with pb blaster. Tried impact wrench, and regular Allen wrench with an extension pipe on it. No luck with either Any ideas? Ill probably try a heat gun tomorrow

POST 2Original post

I am pretty sure I had to drill out those bolts. I am very certain I used stainless bolts when I reassembled it.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh boy Thanks for the reply even though Im not crazy about the answer😏 I havent gotten to that point yet, but Im afraid I might be heading in that directionbummer. Ive only gotten one of the two condensers o ordered so far Ill keep working on it til I get the second one. ** Also, Im pretty sure those bolts are 12.9 hardness Tough to drill no?

POST 4Original post

They r standard allen bolts not high strength. There r several ways to fix. 1. Put some heat on it. Not the bolt but the aluminum block. 2. Take a grinder or dremmel with a cutting wheel and lop off the head. 3. Drill off head 4. This worked for me.... use a large locking plyer to secure the aluminum block and a long socket wrench and twist. The bolt head snaped off 4 me.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, I finally gotem The driver side lower bolt, I decided to drag out my compressor and used the air impact gun on it - came right out (the cordless 20v just didnt have the guts I guess). The top one wasnt a problem and gave up right away. Passenger side the bottom bolt stripped out almost immediately I broke out the trusty Dremel with a cutoff wheel! Top bolt came right out Needless to say, I used anti-seize when I put them back together Ive got AC again

POST 6Original post

I always get it mixed up. The condenser is the "radiator" thing in the AC system attached to the front of the true coolant radiator of the car? That condenser?

Yes. The issue is its a steel bolt in an aluminum condensor and it oxidizes it any moisture wicks in. U would be better served with pink(low strength) locktight to seal the threads then antiseize, but its better then nothing.
