Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
The window issue is probably a microswitch in the door.
Leading evidence: 'microswitch in the door' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'microswitch in the door' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill date' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I did, but like another part I ordered from them, it's on BO with no anticipated fill date.

I want to replace my door lock mechanism first to fix the window closing issue.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I've got some ongoing issues with my driver's side door lock mechanism (window not closing except when locked) with a replacement on the way, but the inside toggle for the locks may need replaced as well.
I can't find any replacement lock toggle switch, or other switches for that matter. Since I haven't removed the lock toggle yet (door lock mechanism first), I don't know if the indicator just pops off and a blank switch beneath.
Can someone give me a clue please?
The caps can be switched, albeit carefully. It could be swapped onto another switch with the LED status indicator.
What year is your car? I may have an extra switch laying around.
It's a '99. I appreciate the offer, but I'm not sure it's the problem currently. I want to replace my door lock mechanism first to fix the window closing issue. I may have an open circuit in it that may be contributing to the problem. I just got that part today but the weather precludes moving from the garage to install it.
I'll PM you if I need it.
Thanks again

Get familiar with how to lookup with these parts diagrams

And all the switches are not the same.
I did, but like another part I ordered from them, it's on BO with no anticipated fill date. At least the sunroof console was available to get in a few days. I think you were the one who actually point me to the site originally. Thanks for the wonderful resource. Compared to the number of manuals for the M1A1 and Bradley, the 996 is a piece of cake.
Take the part number from autoatlanta and web search for a vendor that has the part.
The window issue is probably a microswitch in the door. The lock is either the mechanism or the immobilizer. Both issues may or may not be related. I would also bet the lock switch on the dash has nothing to do with either.
