Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just opened a British Porsche mag which tested a Gemballa 3.9 Boxster.
Leading evidence: 'Test gemballa 3.9 boxster' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust camber it won't be an issue at all' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
I think that if I reduce to 285/30s and/or adjust the camber it won't be an issue at all.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Im picking up my 99' 996
this weekend and Im in the market for some new wheels. What is the widest that I can go in the rear and fronts without rubbings? Thanks...
I think the '04 GT3 wheels will fit but don't hold me to it. The specs are:
Front: 18"x8.5" ET40
Rear: 18"x11" ET63
I saw a GT3 running stock wheels w/ Hoosiers in 245/35 & 305/30.
Example, the 8.5"X19" Champion's work in the front w/stock suspension but not w/coilovers, lot's of variables, Give Dave Martin a call @ Wheel Enhancement, he is very helpful & can help you w/ offsets.
Fuuny,
I am logging onto rennlist to ask the same question for a 2001 996.
Searching through ebay, I see an auction from wheel exchange that specifies (item# 7914728406)
SIZE: 19 x 8.5" & 19 x 11"
BOLT PATTERN: 5x130
OFF-SET: 42mm front & 48mm rear
I have the factory sport techno's which are 18 x 11 and they fit great. ( the tires are 295)
With the standard suspension they seem to stick out a little bit.
With my PSS9's they tuck in under the car completely and look great.
Not sure what the offset is, but I am sure you can look it up.
Peter
Do you mind posting some pics?
I will be going with the ROH Modena and the wheels are all custom made, so I want to confirm the offset before dropping 5K into wheels/tires.
Would 11's in the rear for a narrow bodied 996 be too wide making the wheels stick out? Any pics with 11's in a narrow 996 body would be an eye opener.
Vove,
I have gathered the following information:
19x11 and 19x8.5 should fit with the correct offset and tire size.
With 315/25/19 Yoko AVS and some negative camber, you won't rub--with Sport Conti 2s it'll rub on hard turns.
Yokos tend to run a little narrow and the rim sticks out just past the tire--at least w/ the Conti 2s you get some (marginal) lip protection.
on the front i'm on 19x8.5 with a 235/35/19 and it rubs a little on the inside of the fender on full lock
Thanks for the compliments!
They do stick out slightly, however less than the stock tires on my neighbor's FX45. I've put a few hard mountain roads under her and haven't had any rubbing. I think that if I reduce to 285/30s and/or adjust the camber it won't be an issue at all.
Just opened a British Porsche mag which tested a Gemballa 3.9 Boxster. I think it's 11" rears stuck out about 1.5 inches!
