Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

On my 993 I had Pirellis and was happy as they were used mostly for track and spirited drives, eventhough thread life was appalilng.

Suggestion
For non-track use they should last a good 10,000 miles.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This topic has been beat to death, I've done the search etc. but my requirements on tires have slighlty changed so...
My rear ContiSport2 are creamed and need to be replaced. They still have some thread left but have become increasingly noisy and somehow numb. Thread life has been OK'ish, ie 15.000 kms. They were good only the first 8-10k kms. I expected more.
On my 993 I had Pirellis and was happy as they were used mostly for track and spirited drives, eventhough thread life was appalilng. On my daily 996, I do mostly spirited drives and occasional track. I have read PS Rib and PS2 seems to be a good alround tire.
Now, I have almost made up my mind for PS2, even if they are not N tagged. Bad decision? Do they suck after 10k? I don't expect any more than 20k out of rear tires anyway, but I would like to be able to use them fully until wear marks.
As I use this car as a daily, High performance is not main criteria, silence and threadlife are.
Any hints?
hmmm... So I would get more threadlife in Conti's.
I know performance/behavior of tires is a subjective notion. Would you then consider PS2 more silent?
I may be the only one who believes this, but N rating is over rated. The PS2 is a good tire and do you think Michellin would make a bad tire. They know Pirelli is the main competetion and have to make a tire just as good. The tire is too new to know how will they hold up after 10K miles. From what I know that one of the more quite tire that handle well in the wet and last long is the Goodyear GSD F1. Don't worry about N rating, all of the main tire manufacture like Bridgestone, Goodyear, Michellin, Continetal, Dunlop, Pirelli, and Yokohamma make good tire for your car.
I've been very impressed with the Ribs, both on the street and track. I have about 4000 miles on mine and 3 track days and they have lots of tread left. For non-track use they should last a good 10,000 miles.
If your car is still in warranty you might want to question your dealer re. warranty problems if you put on non N rated tires and there's a failure that can be attributed to the tire. I had the P2S discussion with the service writer at my dealer and he mentioned the above scenario......
