And now I'll be enjoying hot heat and Cold AC with my newly repaired blend doors that I couldn't repair without removing the sub!

Once you are sure you know where the screw is located, it gives you the courage to really use force to pull back the carpet in that location which is incredibly stiff.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Must be dense because still having a little problem finding this screw.
OK, I found an old post on this, and also a parts diagram. Both suggest this carpeted cover that is on the passenger side of the console just in front of the passenger seat is retained with two Torx screws. I located the forward Torx screw and removed it. There is still a tenacious fastener towards the rear of this cover that
should
be the other Torx but I cannot find it.
Can someone help me by either confirming the presence and location of the rear Torx screw or by showing me what sort of fastener is actually there? Tugging on the cover (hard!) suggests that it is not simply clipped in and that something might break if I keep that up. Help!?
Here is the cover I'm talking about, viewed from the top (if you can orient yourself by the floor mat and front of the seat):

Must be dense because still having a little problem finding this screw. Anyone have a picture of this area with the subwoofer cover removed?? Would really help I think!
Thanks much! I should have updated my request to note that I did manage to remove it. The key was realizing that the screw is through a tab that is not under the cover, but beside it. I found it under that corner piece of carpet as you show in your excellent picture.
It's only been ten years since you posted this pic! Thanks very much for the clarification of just where Porsche hid this bolt! I certainly couldn't find it!!
I had to take the sub out to do my Foamy Blend Doors! Except for the fact that there's no esthetically pleasing way to leve the subwoofer out, I'd ditch it and save some weight! I may not even plug the wire back in. My stereo sounds OK with out the sub! And now I'll be enjoying hot heat and Cold AC with my newly repaired blend doors that I couldn't repair without removing the sub!
Thank You!
I wish I had found this post when I was doing the sub removal. Somehow my searching process didn't find this thread. Thankfully, I did eventually find another post that had a picture. It is a case of a picture is worth a thousand words. Other people's written descriptions just are not clear enough to explain where to find the screw. Once you are sure you know where the screw is located, it gives you the courage to really use force to pull back the carpet in that location which is incredibly stiff.
