Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello friends, I tried to search in the archive for this issue but came out empty. I have a '00 996 Cab w/ OEM DVD-based NAV system and the system works fine here in CA. Does anyone know if this system would work in another state with the current DVD or do I need to buy another DVD for that particular state? Any replies are greatly appreciated it. Thanks, -Bao.

POST 2Original post

PCM is cd based. Your cd should tell you which states are covered. Early PCM has 7 or 8 CDs to cover just US. The later PCM has 2 CDs. There is no DVD based Nav for Porsche on 996.
