Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Two weeks ago I went off the track at a DE. After going off my right front wheel was making a chirping/rubbing sound. I drove the next day at the DE and the sound would get louder as the wheel got hotter. When I turned to the left, the noise was a lot louder. After changing wheels, tires and locations of each, and being at the dealer - they were checking out the dust/heat shield around the rotor and hub, they performed a resonance test on the wheel and they said it was totally different then the other three wheels. Since the chirping/rubbing sound was following were the right front wheel went, it's obviously the wheel. The Porsche 18" 996 Sport Design wheel is heavy and built like a tank. Have you ever heard of one breaking. I drove the second day of a DE and 140 miles home from the DE. Tire pressure is fine, so the wheel is not leaking air. I wonder why the noise is a lot louder when I turn to the left. Is there anyway to check the wheel. They are expensive and the wheel still looks like it's brand new. Sunset has the cheapest price on a new one for 660.00. Do you know of anywhere I can send the wheel to be checked out and/or refurbished. Thanks. Ken
