Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

checked a 01 C2 Cab today, the car looks fine. but carfax says it has 5 owners and been on auction for 3 times.
the last owner got it off auction and drove it last summer, decide to sell it to get something new.
PPI is done, with small items like cup holder, etc. but the car has a RMS replaced in Sep, 2004 @33K. the car has 40K now, and porsche service guy says there's no sign off oild leaking.
i guess i should pull the triggle. the price of the car is good.
any other thoughts?
i know most ppl had RMS once and it never comes back. hope this RMS won't come back on this one.
just checked out the RMS poll some time ago, exactly 100 voted
, only 3 has to replace engine due to RMS

5 owners and 3 auctions in 5 years???? Personally, I woudln't go anywhere near it. Too many onwers, records, etc. to track down. You will never really know the history of that car. As most would say, too many 996's on the market to not get the "perfect" one. My vote would be to pass.
Agree with Dell. Chances of the car having had one lousy driver/abusive owner are simply too great. You could also wonder why this car passed from one owner to the next so frequently...unless, of course, it was traded/auctioned between three or four different dealers as undesirable or stale merch--which doesn't bode well either.

your RMS gurus:
the RMS was changed on 9/03/2004, along with transmission seal and intermedia seal.
is this "the" RMS to fix the problem(the cayenne seal), give that date? which generation of this RMS could be?
thanks,

Dell's right, pass on this one unless it's almost a giveaway. 5 owners in such a short time tends to mean each one played "pass the lemon" once they found out the true nature of their car. I'm not saying it's the case with this one, but I wouldn't take the risk with my money, or yours.

ok,
got the car tonight. the car runs strong.
haven't taken any photo yet.
one question, the oil indicator was pointing at 5 when the car is cold, after driving for 20 miles, it slowly went down to 3~4, is this normal?
got a check eng. light on this morning while drving on high way.
car seems to be normal otherwise.
then i recalled i didn't turn off the engine last night while filling gas, is it the curse?
