I have a base stero and will replace the 5.25's with something inexpensive and add a sub or two but don't want to go ape**** with the cost.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have searched and there is some older information and maybe i'm not using the correct search words. I have a base stero and will replace the 5.25's with something inexpensive and add a sub or two but don't want to go ape**** with the cost. Back in the day, i did so and don't want to go down that path again. Are there any decent inexpensive enclosures that i can get that won't break the bank?

POST 2Original post

I installed custom sub woofer enclosures in my cab that rest on the floor in the rear seats. Easily removable when needed and they transformed the sound (along w/ speaker upgrades in dash, doors and rear seats). Kept stock Becker head unit for factory look, but added OEM Becker iPod integration. Very pleased w/ the results. I got everything from Rod: http://www.caraudioinnovations.com/

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

wow $1300? Maybe i'll wait for someone selling them. I am sure they are worth every penny.

POST 4Original post

I know this isn't really helping in your situation but I thought I put this out there for other cab owners. This seems like a good solution for Cabrio owners that can't utilize the space behind the rear seats. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dual-8-Porsc...item27d0f81ec1 It is pricey however. Or you can pick up a used OEM Cabrio "Sub" and I use that word lightly as it's not a true sub IMO but can satisfy some that don't listen to their music loud or music with heavy bass like rap. This piece goes in the left side of the passenger footwell. http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-C4-Porsch...e71fb3&vxp=mtr I've seen these as low as the mid 150's if you keep an eye out on a used one.
