Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All, Was wondering whether anybody can point me in the right direction. For the past month I've been driving my 2000 C2 with the hardtop mounted. When I installed the hardtop, the warning light for the softtop (on the lower part of the dash) came on. Since nothing out of the normal had happened during the installation process, I paid no further attention to it. Yesterday I took the hardtop off and went for a ride in sunny Georgia To my surprise I was not able to close the softtop once I arrived at my destination. The thing just won't move. I did all the usual checks : hand brake on, rear decklid properly closed, even checked the fuse. Everything was in fine order. Anybody can point me in the right direction before I take it in ?

POST 3Original post

When mine stopped working completely, it was the hand brake fuse. Pull your brake up and check the dash, if no light is on, that is what it is.

POST 4Original post

That happened to me once when the top was not 100% down before I put the top on. Try pulling the hand break and pushing the "top down" button for a second to see if the light goes off and it resets, then try putting it back up.

POST 5Original post
