Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello I just bought a throttle body mod 4s of 997 for my 2009 996 Carrera 2 2003. The original throttle body diameter '75mm like this and '85 mm. Now I need the plenum for this change.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the 997 4s has the new throttle body 84 mm , with the gt3 .

POST 5Original post

the OP made a statement, not a question COOL !!!

POST 6Original post

ok but there is still something confusing about this "mod 4s of 997 for my 2009 996 Carrera 2 2003" Is there a message in there somewhere about being able to fit a larger throttle body on our engines? Pete

POST 7Original post

I cant see how it would help without changing the exhaust as well... there is a fomula somewhere that says the amount of air in has to equal the amount of air out...............

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Someone has a plenum of the GT3?

POST 10Original post

Ive heard of putting bigger throttle bodies in..... can you notice any diff in power with this mod?

POST 11Original post

It would be interesting to see dyno runs before and after. I would have guessed the throttle body should be balanced with the engine displacement, compression, cams & exhaust. Just changing one should have a modest effect at best. I'm open to being wrong.

POST 12Original post

The throttle body controls air flow into the combustion chambers correct?

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I explain I would mount on my 996 Carrera 2, the throttle body of the new 997 4s. This' same as the GT3. this is because I see several posts on Cayman, the 996 Turbo, assemble the throttle body bigger and earn tantta torque and 10 hp. Someone can help me determine the dimensions of the plenum 996 to 997 GT3?

POST 14Original post

honestly... do you think you are going to notice 10 HP and "some" more torque... unless you are pushing your car to the ragged edge in a competative timed enviornment, this is just a sound modification IMO and for $1 you can put a cap on the secondary air intake and have the same results... sorry, i just dont get this thread - though I understand some people just want to try the strange things and get them to work... before doing it get a good Dyno run and then compare the "after"... I would not be surprised to see something you had not thought of from doing this.... juat my 0.02 and GL

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, then why in the cayman , 996 -997 turbo and mount a bigger throttle body?
