Damn, the "Ben Choi" filter is not working again, I better check on that

Can you repair a wrap that has peeled, or bubbled?

Maybe I should change the whole car color instead, cool :-)

If there was a way they could make this car wrap reflect laser then the car would be used for "Stealth".

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I couldn't be more pleased! Compliments of
SkinzWraps
in Dallas. This is their newest carbon fiber look material, and man is it sweet! Now I just need to get my wheels powder coated

i was considering getting my car wrapped, but couldn't find any good pics of 911s outside of matte black and matte white. i really dig the carbon fiber look. very unique. i assume it's textured?
Yeah not my flavor either... But overall it is a neat concept.
It really fits well. Is the fit as good as it appears in the pic?
That one looks kinda bat mobile-ish
Tom,
WOW, that is awesome! What a unique looking wrap! PSF = Porsche Stealth Fighter!
Thanks for the pics! I MUST see that in person before we move to Greeenville!
This is their new custom wrap material. It's so new that my GT3 is the first Porsche to get wrapped with it in the US. It takes 2 days to install and, well, it's not the cheapest wrap they can do
I believe a basic wrap is between $2000-$3000.
As for maintenance, simple wash and it's like brand new. Makes for easy upkeep.
It comes off without any harm to the paint (think clear bra).
-td
yea but protects the paint - so not having to respray the front after some track days (once a year) will pay for itself in a matter of time - plus OEM paint when the time to trade up is better than - repainted
TD, nice job. That looks seriously cool and very unique. You won't have any trouble spotting your car in a crowd.
The powdercoated wheels will look great with the wrap. It is one of my favorite mods that I have done so far...black wheels are a breeze to keep clean.
I like it. I'm not a big fan of the matte black, but this is different. I could do without the advertisement on the back under the GT3. Other than that, it kicks ***! Enjoy!!!
Well somebody did it....I'm speechless.
That is amazing. Easiest way to change the color or look of your car without permanently doing it. I've seen that done to a CGT in matte black. Frickin amazing.
Not a fan of matte black either, but it looks fantastic.
EDIT: I found the gloss pictures... I'd really like to see this up close, I'd be very interested in doing this.

I'd struggle with the temptation to 'unwrap' my 911 if I did that. Great way to preserve a pristine original paint finish...especially a track dedicated 911.
That is stunning.
I do wonder how it will stand up to rock chips, etc. My clear bra has cuts and nicks, some that expose paint. There are also some chips that have clearly dislodged paint that is now held in place by the bra and will come off when it is eventually removed. That lighter color underneath may show where the front gets chipped. The texture may help minimize and/or conceal these.
My car has had 3 wraps in the last year. Although it gets more track time than street time, the wrap is pretty good at keeping road debris off your car.
Some folks do get worried about partial wraps and fading. I understand that you can get a clear UV shield on those parts that will keep the paint the same color.

I'm still unsure about how it looks compared to a real paint job. I'd have to see it up close, but I like the idea... now spending $6,000 to wrap the car 3 times dosen't seem like a great idea to me.
Try repainting it 3 times
Or buying 3 cars with different colors! lol
As for the appearance, the skill of your installer will dictate how the wrap will look. Some put seams all over the place and things bubble at the edges. Others get a near perfect fit. Virtaully all wraps are great from 5-10 feet. Decent from 5 feet and under, and only the best wraps are great on very close inspection. YMMV based on your installer.

That's really incredible stuff, very nice... I will consider doing this too. My car has a paint bleshmish or contamination on the hood and Stuart-Body quote me $2 to $2.5K to repaint the front only. Maybe I should change the whole car color instead, cool :-)
Interesting concept... Spend 2k on respraying my hood/fende/bumpers or wrap it in white...
whats the longevity of these wraps? do they wrap the door jams somehow?
Yup. SkinzWraps. Great company to work with!
I haven't put it up on the scales yet, but I'm guessing maybe 10-20 lbs (if that much). So now my car will weigh 3060 with fluids
Airrik, it was a joke.

If you are tracking the car and get a wrap to protect the paint and resale, I think it makes sense. Otherwise I just don't get the whole wrap look. I prefer a nice shiny, glossy car, in Black too! Yeah, its a lot more work, but so worth it.
The plain matte black cars look like primer to me. At least the carbon fibre look is better then matte.
However, its a car, not a stealth fighter. And its not carbon fibre either. Sorry to be "keeping it real", but I don't like it, except for the practical aspects of maintenance.

Oh, ok I get it now ha ha
Carbon fiber yes makes everything lighter.
Wouldn't it be great if this wrap material could somehow keep you under the radar with cops, deflect the ka bands etc. If there was a way they could make this car wrap reflect laser then the car would be used for "Stealth". $4500 may be worth it then for sure.
Oldie but goodie. Gotta throw one out every now and again
You're just lucky I didn't bring up Sean Banjeree. Dangit! I just did it!
OK, I'll event it out by saying, everyone please search for the dirsegard thread.

Hey, if you dont like my rims, that's cool, I don't like the wrap. everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I actually think your car looked great before the wrap. If you post pics, soliciting an opinion, some will not be favorable.
Like the Porsche dealer that tried to tell me I need all new rotors on my car after just 5,000 miles on the car.
I told him in no uncertain terms to f-ck himself. Actually those are the exact words I used.
Well, these guys only do high end cars so to do it right (from their booK), they need to blend-in the color to the hood, front bumper, left and right fenders. Basically the whole front is repainted. Anyway for that price, I would think twice before pulling the trigger. For now I can live with a couple of inches paint blemish on the hood...
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
