Does changing the shifter bring back that aggressive return to the 3-4 slot?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For the month of November, Eric has reduced the price of the B&M shifter to $179. His normal price is $199. The usual list price is $275. If you go to Bumberplugs.com and order the shifter, the site still lists it at $199. However, once you add it to your shopping cart, the price will be $179.
If you order it, take $18 of the $20 you saved and join Rennlist as a Member for one year (you can click on "membership" at the top right corner of any screen on Rennlist). Costs less than half a tank of gas and lasts much longer.

Thanks Tim.
Yes, you can order
here
if you cannot see the link. Just click the 'order tab' once on site.
But do join RL...it's a great place.
OK, I almost shudder to do this, but I really have searched both here and other sites for quite a while . . . Do any of you have a link to the pictoral guide to installation? The link I had at the B&M site does not work and could not find a new link on there site . . .
Jon,
I was going to supply you with the link, but Eric will take care of you. Besides that, I am trying to get back on "Uncle Eric's" will. If you still need the link later, let me know.
you bought the key mod over this... shame, shame... might as well get the matching alum gas cap to go with your cgt fob key. just press the buy it now and get it over with
Well, I for one could not resist, and ordered one.
Eric, I do have a question. When new, the shifter aggresively returned thge lever to the midline 3-4 slot, and you had to consciously counter to go to the 1-2 or 5-6 slot, and especially to go to the reverse gear slot. Makes for quick confidence shifting since releasing the shifter almost guarantees you're in the 3-4 slot. Now with the car 6 years old, it feel somewhat sloppy and occasionally just hangs in the 5-6 slot, or worse, in the 1-2 slot. Hate to go to 1st gear from redline 2nd gear when I expected to go to third. Does changing the shifter bring back that aggressive return to the 3-4 slot?
OMG tell me about it. Thankfully I already have this. But so far this year I've bought almost a complete leather interior piece by piece, GT3 bumper, GT3 wing, guage rings, and right now am looking at wheels. The car is having the bumper painted and installed right now. My wife has not said a word! I keep expecting her to just explode, especially since she never learns about these purchases until after they occur. I have to stay away from this place. It's like crack.
Yes, I do. I went huting with a couple of guys last week end. We went to a 200 acre hunting lease. We split up and they told me that if I got lost I should shoot into the air twice and they would come and get me. Well, I did get lost and fired off two shots but they never came.
Finally, after six hours, I found my way back to the truck. They asked why I hadn't fired off two shots and I told them I did. In fact, I shot 3 arrows into the air. But when they didn't come to find me I figured they were just ignoring me.
No, I didn't get a turkey either!

Have you tried to adjust the set/locking screw/nut on the front of the shifter? It sounds like you have too much play in it and maybe it needs to be re-centered and then tightened.
Is the Huge B&M short shifter different from the regular B&M short shifter? I want to make sure I have the latest and greatest one.
[Great price, btw]

I bought one from Eric last week. Transaction was fantastic (shipped quickly and no surprises). Unfortunately, I bought it for a friend as a birthday gift.
Must resist the urge to get one for myself,
Over the past year, GT3 Aero kit, Nav/Stereo system, Interior upgrades, wheels... blash..blah...etc.. I think I may low until 2009
My wife is really awesome abut my obsession but..why push it
Unless A REALLY good bargain comes up heh!!
Thanks for being a bad influence
. I just got married so I'm trying to save a bit. I just got a fabspeed exhaust so I'm hoping that will hold me over for the winter in terms of the mod bug.
Ferd, I was thinking the EXACT same thing!!!!!
This is almost as bad a Phil not driving his car!
< Tim does his best to shame Marc enough so that he will install his shifter >
