Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Run 7 sessions and nearly 2 tanks of gas' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run 7 sessions and nearly 2 tanks of gas' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
I haven't posted in a while but thought I'd share re 3 days at Watkins Glen with NNJR region.
Many 996's there - nary an engine failure. My own car ran great the entire event -fast, tight, a joy to drive. I asked an instructor (GT3 driver) to go out one run and he was amazed the balance and abilities of a stock 996 C4 with really good street tires. Did a few very fast runs in hard rain too.
Anyway, with all the nervous posts, etc. I just wanted to chime in with my absolute happiness with my car. It went by a number of higher-powered cars with no drama.
Lime Rock next week.
Enjoy your 996's, they are terrific.

Hi Bill:
Glad to see that you had the time to take your new baby out to the track! Big difference from your previous one and no doubt you enjoyed it more. More power and the 4wd helped pull her through the corners. Hope to catch up with you at an event later this summer.
Looking good, Rob.
Hudson Valley region will be there Aug. 31 & Spet. 1... 5 hours of open track per day for advanced drivers!
If I may offer some driving critique, I think there are some turns where you can turn in a touch earlier and hold them tighter to the apex (just make sure you leave the apex at the right time!).
Notice how long I'm by the right curb in 5 and my entry into the toe of the boot. Also, I start coming in earlier than you for 6, I leave the far right edge right after the storm grate. I like the way you do 9 and 10, but I think you can be tighter on the inside of the concrete for 11. Also for 2, I think you can turn in a touch earlier.

Van,
Thanks for the pointers and critique as i'm driven to improve.. Your line is clearly shorter and faster.
I have been struggling with 5, 11 and 2 with timing my turn in, apex and track out.. Its a great track with some many possible lines.. the armco on 11 still freaks me out but im getting over myself.
I worked with a race coach during a Niagara open track event at WGI that really helped,
Van again your advice is appreciated..
great driving
I was at the Kojote event there end of July. Set a personal best of 3 tanks of gas the first day and 2 the second. Almost 8 hours of track time per day, if you can hack it, and open passing.
For 5, try to hug the curbing from about 2 or 3 car lengths before the apex all the way to about a car length after the apex. You have the most camber close to the curbing.
A little of that applies to 11, there is more camber close to the curbing. Of course, you have to make sure, if you get to the curbing early, STAY close to the curbing until you reach the apex and then do your track-out - don't track-out early!
And for 2, there is an access road on the left - right after that start turning (it'll feel a little early, but I think it's a nice line).
Also, try and remember that it's usually the outside wheels that cause all force - and that's why the concrete patches are there. So if you have the car centered over the concrete patch, you're probably too wide.
For the toe (turn 7) try to enter inside the concrete.
And lots of seat time helps!
Nice driving Rob and Van!
at the end of the day, we walked the track and made measurments of the angles of each turn..... it may look somewhat flat at each turn, but there are TONS of banks on a lot of those turns... you def can go at least 5mph faster than what you think you can go.... yes its all about seat time I need more of.
