Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Discussions that suspect a cause
1

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suspected cause

I had that issue in another car and it was due to low fluid but there could just be a spring in the valve body (if I recall correctly) that needs to be replaced.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hey guys, Feels like my transmission is about to go ... Anyone knows where i could get a rebuilt one shipped to Singapore? Its a TIP transmission. Cheers

POST 2Original post

I can do it. I have the logistics at my disposal. With GE in town shipping RR train engines every where I can make it happen. Its not going to be cheap. PM me. I will get you a price on a trans and the shipping. Do you want rebuilt or do you want used?

POST 3Original post

What year / model of 996 is it? Why do you feel the tranny is about to go? Has your mechanic told you this is the problem? If it is a ZF, then it is possible that you could be having problems, these are considered less reliable. But, if it is the Merc 722.6 you have (likely if you have a 2003 or newer), the transmission is considered pretty much bulletproof.

Whenever i blast off the lights, I sometimes do feel a slight jerk. It feels like a wheel slip in that sense but it is not. I drive a year 2000 porker which i think is the one that is less reliable. Cheers

This is interesting - can you elaborate? Is replacing this spring a massive "guts open" job, or is it relatively straightforward (i.e. can it be done with the transmission still on the car?)

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
