I've already changed the pads, and oil pipes, and brake a lot more but I also want a disc slightly larger for the fading and aesthetics.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I try two front brake discs 330 / 340 * 28 30 in a single piece, porsche 996, do you know any company that produces them?

POST 3Original post

many different manufacturers make 996 rotors, look on the internet

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I looked but my originals are 318 * 28. I would like to de plus discs (eg turbo 330 * 34) but without spending $ 1000 for girodisc.

POST 6Original post

Your calipers and rotors are matched very well. Why would you want to add MORE unsprung weight?

POST 8Original post

I guess I am lost.... you want the same calipers and brakes and bigger rotors? and the reason?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Exact, I just want larger disks, to dispose the heat better and better appearance.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Use the 996 on the road and sometimes on the track.

POST 12Original post

For mostly street driving and the occasional track day, you are more than fine with the OEM size. I highly doubt you have overheating issues.

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 8163849

I want to know where you wanted this to go....

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I changed the tubes and the oil. I would like a more disk just for beauty, you know?

POST 15Original post

ah, you want the bling factor and added weight What's comical is that if you had 300mm discs you'd want 320's. If you'd had 330mm discs, you'd want 350, and so on and so on................

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 8166696

Does this answer your question?

POST 17Original post

If you want bling, it's your $$$. I race on stock rotors. With good pads there is plenty of braking power, and heat is not really a big deal, particularly if you upgrade the brake ducts.

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 8168305

Maybe he should get some 997 brake ducts and paint them red?

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The caliper 997 3.6 and 996 are equal ? caliper of the 997 3.8 and 996 turbo, 4s are equal . The pincers of the carrera have a 130 mm while the larger calipers with 140 mm. Got it? I've already changed the pads, and oil pipes, and brake a lot more but I also want a disc slightly larger for the fading and aesthetics. Ok??

POST 20Original post

Sorry, I don't have a clue what you're saying. Hopefully somebody else can help out.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Speg me better. pliers of the 996 turbo, I can not mount them because the two holes is 140 mm and 130 mm as the original calipers. then I would put the disks as girodisc but spend less, you understand?

POST 26Original post

Quotes source post: 8170617

I completely understand!

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What do not you understand?

POST 28Original post

We understand what you are trying to do, and why it is not working for you. We (or at least I) don't understand why you feel the need to do it other than for aesthetics. If your brakes are fading at a DE, you're probably on them too much quite honestly. My stock brakes don't fade when driving at race pace. If you really feel the need to do something for handling heat, as I've already stated, I'd start by upgrading the brake ducts. You can get GT3 ducts at suncoast. Easy to install, and they will help a bit. You might also consider going to 2 piece rotors. OGRacing sells PFC 2-piece rotors. But honestly, I suspect you would be wasting your money.

POST 29Original post

I personally believe the OEM brakes are just fine for DE's. Doing what you want to honestly does not compute. The most important is bleeding the brakes often during the DE season. That and your pads are what gives braking power. And do the GT3 ducts..it directs air at the brakes to help cooling. I have learned to do a bleed before every DE. With a Motiv bleeder it is a piece of cake. So a question I have is how often have you bled your brakes? Also some here suggest to bleed before AND after a DE. Thought being why drive around afterwards with dirty fluid. Makes sense.

POST 37Original post

I can just see getting black flagged because the corner guard noticed one of your calipers fell off!!

POST 38 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

But I speak Arabic? Some producers of brake rotors site know them?

POST 39 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What do you think if I mount the front discs of 330 * 24 996 turbo? I could use my original caliper, by changing only 4 catches for milling 3 mm? and 'a good idea?

POST 41Original post

Making modifications like that to your brakes for aesthetic reasons is a terrible idea in my opinion. I'm guessing that you need to do this because the rotors you want to use are thicker than stock and thus won't fit between the stock calipers? If so, then you will not be able to fit new brake pads in there either. Why do you want to mess with something that your life depends upon just so it looks "better"? Paint your calipers red, and you will get a more obvious visual affect with no risk to life and limb. Put the GT3 brake ducts on to get a little more cooling. Change your fluid to Motul or SRF. Put some PFC97 brake pads on. DON'T hack away at your calipers!

POST 42 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the advice I have already put the new brake hoses el oil. If stock and leave behind the mountains are 330 to 299 instead of braking imbalance?
