He agreed that the engine seal was of the latest spec, TPFE, and that when changing the clutch, it would be a good idea to install a ceramic bearing.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I solved the problem by selling it and replacing it with Lucy.
probably - there were some changes that in a way make it better and yet not completely immune - I think the numbers are n your favor though.
About all that can be done is to (when the time is right, like when changing the clutch) pull the ISB seal and remove the sealing ring from the bearing to allow fresh new oil in and prevent a dry bearing. Also the RMS issues in early motors stemmed from a poor seal which was upgrades and a problem of centering the crank craddle to the block sealing hole - they seem to have gotten that figured out too..
welcome aboard, post some pics and specs on your car - enjoy in good health
Exactly my situation as well, and I never got a clear cut answer on this situation.
Like mentioned above. I think the odds are better in a situation like this but still...
Thanks for the comments.
Yesterday, I mentioned my engine numbers to a local 'expert'. He agreed that the engine seal was of the latest spec, TPFE, and that when changing the clutch, it would be a good idea to install a ceramic bearing. In case of oil starvation, the ceramic bearing will still function.
My car is sleeping now in a Montreal garage, and I'm making myself crazy with this IMS neurosis.
In April, when I'm learning how to drive, I probably won't be as worried.
I look forward to track events with the PCA at Mont Tremblant.
Supposedly, the 2 day session puts a grin on your face for a month.
Oh yeah, it also slows you down on the public roads!
