My only comfort complaint is that since they do support your shoulders so well, you can't really use the door or the center console as an armrest.

I guess I'm confused unless you just use the seat without any harnesses, in which case I'm confused in a different way.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

...It is possible. Just put the passenger seat all the way forward and put it in with the bottom facing the back of the passenger seat and the back side of the headrest facing towards the roof with the rear seats folded down. Pics tomorrow. Now you can take your gt3 seat to the track but ride there and back comfortably!

POST 2Original post

are you suggesting GT3 seats are not comfy... do you have the install dirrections? There are a couple things you have to do so you dont get a CEL - IIRC Renntech is where I got the info to do mine

POST 3Original post

Why would you want to go with all the trouble... Just install the seat and enjoy...

POST 4Original post

Having just gotten out of my GT3 seat after a 200 mile drive, I can't see why you wouldn't keep it in all the time.

POST 5Original post

my guess is he bought it and had to get it home so he put it in the back

POST 6Original post

Nah sounds like he doesn't think it will be comfortable and wants to swap it in and out where he only installs it for track use.

POST 7Original post

sparco evo with lumbar support is the only seat that doesn't hurt my back.

POST 8Original post

Gt3 seats are very comfortable to me...... its the getting in/out part that requires a bit of effort.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I had to drive 500 miles home to FL, and after installing it and driving it for a day I just didn't see it happening. Driving around town? Sure no problem. Just not 500 miles, especially when it is cold out. I looked up that DIY photo album that is here on Rennlist, which helped. I goofed up the spacer install (had the chamfer the wrong way) for the seat belts though, which caused it to rub a bit. I'll get it right next time I install it. My only comfort complaint is that since they do support your shoulders so well, you can't really use the door or the center console as an armrest. And also I really didn't see being able to fit the 60lb stock seat in the back, but the GT3 one was easy to put back there.

POST 11Original post

We must all drive to the bet of a different drummer.

POST 12Original post

Do you mount your harnesses at the track? I guess I'm confused unless you just use the seat without any harnesses, in which case I'm confused in a different way. FWIW, both my wife and I like the GT3 seats. -td

POST 13Original post

Drove my GT3 from Miami to Raleigh and enjoyed every minute in those bucket seats

POST 14Original post

the only thing I can think of that would make a GT3 seat feel any better is .................. a GT3 motor behind them

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I haven't invested in harnesses and a harness bar yet. I don't get time to do enough track days to justify it. I do enough autocrosses to be tired of falling out of the stock seat though! Driving from what felt like the passenger's seat at NCCAR is what sealed the deal for me.

A trunk load of keys he brought from Me-he-co. His deal with the devil to drive hard and stay on the road. The deal to buy GT3 seats? and install them wrong Maybe work on the seats position like not too close to the steering wheel and any other adjustment. Best I found is just right so that outstretching the arms to the top of the wheel your hands are still able to grasp good while pushing off the wheel so that thee isn't any heavy push available.
